Does this help at all when working in dirt /moist dirt / mud? I do not use my tractor often in the snow.

Not really. Snow likes to stick to snow. In fancy terms snow cohesive (sticks to itself). It doesn't adhere to rubber though. By making tiny grooves it allows the snow to get packed into the grooves and then stick to the snow on the ground. Mud/ dirt don't have the same properties. In some cases they actually act just the opposite, like a lubricant. In most cases with mud or dirt you need to dig down to something solid to get traction.

Would this work on turf tires?

I don’t think it would. Turf tires already have small lugs for tread. It would depend on what your tires look like To be honest.
