If you have drill press drill more holes. If not take to machine shop or find a friend who can drill more. You probably need to place them in a different line than these are to keep plenty of metal between the holes.

I like the machine shop idea, I've been wondering how much of a pain it would be to do myself. I do have a drill press but it's a cheap one.

Here's how the drawbar sits in the aftermarket one.

You should be able to do that with a hand drill fairly easily. I would put the holes as close to the bend at the front of the flat spot as they would fit and put them in the right spots to let you lock the tongue in the center.

Or insert one of these on either side of your bar and drop your pins in. (Through each)

a couple of big old nuts with the right size hole for a bushing that you have laying around might give you a idea if something like that might work.
