I\'m glad everything is not built like my 4110

I'm sure this will flare up a few, and I don't mean to, but I must say that everytime I use my 4110, something breaks. I try to be extra careful with it, but nevertheless, something breaks. Doesn't happen if I drive my 4-wheeler or my other tractor (no brand mentioned here), or my old truck. But I am really beginning to believe that these are inferior built products. I have a neighbor that has a Mahindra, and his is falling apart too. I have under 300 hours on her, and at this rate she won't have a chance at making it to 1000 hours. Today the switch that controls the headlights just FELL OFF. The cheepo plastic fitting is just crumbling. I bet I have turned on the lights maybe 3 times (once at the dealer). This should not be happening especially for a tractor that is kept in the garage! The folks at Mahindra should have to pay for my high blood pressure that this thing causes. How many hours do you guys have on your Mahindra?? How is it holding up? Anybody out there with more than 500 hours and the tractor is still holding together??

Re: I\'m glad everything is not built like my 4110

Sorry to hear about your 4110. Is it still under warranty? How may warranty issues have you had since you've had it? I had one with my 6000 (noting here that the 6000 is built in India by Mahindra and is not a TYM model). That was an O-ring at the top of the power steering resevoir. Mahindra replaced the who resevoir. I've got 229 hrs on it now. Going back about 55 years, we had a '50 8n Ford that the tach cable broke on after only a few years. Dad never fixed it. I think that Ford is still running. Point is; is the engine running good? do the hydraulics work good? Does the engine start quickly? To me these are the things that are important about a tractor. If my car was stuck in a ditch at 2 in the AM, and I could use a pair of pliers to turn on the 4110 lights, I'd still pull the car out....I guess my perspective on todays tractors is based on yesterday's tractors. I bought a "tank". So did you. I based my buying decision on the way tractors USED to be built. Thay's why I bought red. Again, I don't know everything that has gone wrong with your 4110, but if the dealer won't make it right and you don't like the tractor, get rid of it. I'm keepin' mine for another 30 years or so. Just my opinion....BobG in VA

Re: I\'m glad everything is not built like my 4110

It's too bad you've had problems with your tractor. My 2810HST has been great, although I don't have the hours on mine as you do. Mine just turned 210 hours this weekend. My hope is that yours is the exception. Do you feel it could be a result of assembly or prep, or more like a manufacturing issue?
I hope you experience improves or I second the idea of moving on to another tractor.

My 97' 485 DI just rolled over 1026 hrs. No problems or complaints. I'm 100% satisfied.

TRAVISR-
No offense to you, I'm glad you are 100% satisfied. However, I took a look at your posts, and you have had some problems. It is not true that you have had no problems.

I too am sorry you are experiencing no satisfaction from your Mahindra tractor. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but i joined this forum to get useful information, genuine experience from like owners of the brand of tractor that i also own. i just hate it when thread after thread is spent running Mahindra into the ground. I appreciate you telling us what has malfunctioned or what has broken on your tractor i find that information useful. What i find offensive is that (not just you) people attack the brand relentless by various means. If yall are experiencing no satisfaction from owning a Mahindra or do not wish to spend your time constructively giving useful information that all readers can use, please just sell the tractor, stop owning it, why torture yourself anylonger. And for the record i don't sell tractors, i am not some paid pawn of the industry, etc. What I am actually is a Mahindra owner who reads this discussion forum every single day to find out useful information about the brand of tractor that i own. So before i leave this i want o apologize for any discomfort i have given to those that read this, i do not wish to start a war and i certainly don't want another thread to go on , and on, and on about the quality or whatever of Mahindra. Post information that others can use, enjoy reading about, don't post threads that will start wars.

Re: I\'m glad everything is not built like my 4110

Life seems to be a lot about perception. I think Travis has perceived the small issues he has had as inconsequential on a tractor with over 1000 hrs. It all comes down to how you define things and that varies person to person.

I don't own a Mahindra, but there is a lemon in every brand once in a while. What are posters suppose to do? Are they just to sing the praises of a brand or are the to tell all the good and the bad? We all tell the good and we all should tell the bad. That way the manufactures will take care of the problems and then we all benefit for it.

Murray,
Well said. I agree with you somewhat. But I am on a fact finding mission of folks with more hours on their Mahindra than I do to see if it is holding up so that I can make an informed and educated decision of whether it is better to sell the tractor or not. So far I find folks that are happy with their tractor, but yet they do not have many hours on it. I am not trying to bash the brand in the ground, but I don't wish to suppress the "truth" of my experiences with the unit either. Someone out there might be like me and find cosmetic issues and non cosmetic issues (like broken fenders, cracked seats, broken light switches, oil filter leaks, seal leaks, pto solenoid failures) to be important, and find my comments useful in their considerations of their future tractor purchase. Let's not bury our heads and sand and only post "cheerful" and "happy" points. That's not informative either. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I am still looking for those who have more than 500 hours and have not had things falling off, and breaking!
