You do understand that those 50cc/20" have "smaller" chain than the 60cc saws, don't you??

Yes, Rob I do understand that. Not sure what your point is. A 50cc saw with a 20" bar is common out West and uncommon here in hardwood country.

I think a 90 cd saw would be way overkill for a 25" bar. You are carrying around a lot of extra weight for marginal improvement. A 70cc saw can rip through 25" wood.
I'd have to disagree cutting dead ash (really hard) or oak with a MS660 (2nd from left) 92cc saw and 25" bar is about the ideal size the saw ballances almost perfectly and with the full bar buried will make you giggle if you've been running the 372XP (3rd from left) with 24" bar which is also definitely nose heavy. The husky 372xp is a fantastic saw it's not much heavier than my MS361 But it has noticeably more power. The MS660 is noticeably heavier but way more power. The MS660/1 have among the best hp/weight ratio out there for stock saws.

I'd buy a 372xp over the MS361 or 362 in a minute. It's a great all around saw I can carry around either all day and limb with and not get tired. 660 on the other hand is a drag if your not cutting stuff 10" or bigger.

What's really fun is a saw with 650/660 power and 372xp weight

I talked to an Echo dealer today, and he told me the same thing. It sounds like the 590 is at a great price, which I was quoted $399 with a 20 inch bar. Add another 24" bar, and you are at $500. I'm headed there tomorrow after work to check the Echo lineup out, and this dealer also sells Dolmar. The Echo chainsaws have a 5 year warranty, and the Dolmars have a 2 year, according to this dude.

I have a couple of Echos saws and really like them. The CS-590 is a bargain.

Nice bunch of saws you got there! Are any of those left handed saws?

The new Stihl's ain't what the old ones are....

I too prefer an Echo for a new saw.

Having said that I have a 30 year old Stihl 075 with a 36" bar running square tooth chipper chain. Not for an amateur but it cuts like mo tomorrow. Only for bucking big logs.

Sounds like a motocross bike.

LOL Thanks the two Huskies are my buddies. I Really like his 372XP I believe the other is a 353xp it has no power but is really light, not my cup of tea. If I accidentally ran over or dropped a tree on the 361 I'd likely replace it with a 372XP

It's common in Mi.,

My point is, my Husky 55 came with a 20" bar... So did my 350 and my new 550xp, and there's a HUGE amount of hard wood around here! (including here in my wood lot)

I try to avoid cutting dead wood. Dangerous to fell, and hard on the blade. I wouldn't mind having a 90 cc saw, but it would be a 3rd saw. My 372 XP does 95 percent of my work maybe more. IMO a 90 cc saw is too big for general use. A 372 XP will still cut circles around the op's current saw. My 372 was nose heavy with the 28" bar, but much better balanced with a 20" bar.
