It hurts when someone messes with one's stuff. Mine you at least we have stuff to mess with I have a difficult time imagining what it must be like for some maybe more then some. A lot of manuals are on line now, I know it is a bother but you could perhaps print them out or better yet go to the dealer for them and possibly get a new toy for the tractor to cheer you up, the better half might even understand, lol.

Best Wishes for health and prosperity in the New Year to all!

Bird, I read you post several times, but I never saw anything about burying the perp next to a fire ant mound and covering his head in honey. As much as we'd love to do that, I guess the law must have been written before fire ants were so common in Texas.

:laughing::laughing:Dang, Jim, you're as tough as those Comanche Indians that were here in Texas before the white man.

But it doesn't say that you can't! :D

It sucks when some moron breaks in and takes or destroys your personal property whether its manuals, or what ever. For some reason people now think its just OK and usually the jerks get away with it.

For what ever its worth.. I am super impressed with your organization to carry those manuals etc. Sure makes sense. Most likely becuase of the weight like you said they thought it was a computer. JERKS! I will be happy to lend ya my AR if you want to go hunting.

I started carrying the manuals after baling hay one year with an old NH baler and I used that manual almost everyday to keep it going! I appreciate the offer on the AR, but I'm pretty well set up in that department.

My suggestion is to do what I do if you can. I buy the manual, I scan it in to PDF so I know I would not lose it. For repair, I might print a few pages that need and I write notes, scribble on it while doing the repair and then toss it as it papers might get oily.

RD, Perhaps you can buy those manuals on PDF to start or have someone on this forum scan them for ya and send ya the PDFS that have the same gear.

You could then use a smart phone, Ipad etc. to view them. There are pretty tough cases by griffin( milspec), otter, jellybean, etc so you can use the devices in the fields. My son and I use an Ipad in the garage and barn all the time looking at manuals and info from the net.. I have a griffin case on my ipad.
All the best.

I'm not quite that advanced "55"!

A couple months back I was heading to a job with my laborers. I hadn't been there since I had bid the job and it had been quite awhile. While I was dragging out my mapbook my $10 an hour laborers were looking up the address on their phones. THAT finally got me to purchase a phone with GPS, but it's not a smart phone. I got a full military spec flip phone. Did I mention that I'm hard on phones?
