Don't forget the next rainy day that you were going to install headlights to keep the rods dry... otherwise, NICE JOB!!!

Farmer:

Really nice job. I have an old tombstone that has been waiting for a cart for some time however I never found the right design UNTIL NOW....:thumbsup:
My tombstone is 35 years old and is AC only. Something I wish was that it was both AC and DC like yours. But with the newer AC rods it still works well.
A couple of suggestions.
A beverage holder is really worthwhile. Here's a pix of it unfinished, then painted and the little jig used to bend the 1/4 rod. This little jig has been one of the most useful things I've done. (This picture is not of mine though).

Another suggestion is to hang your chipping hammer outside. You use it a lot so you want it handy.

Finally, I also mount an electrical box on a vehicle such as this. I would set it up for four wire from the welding panel that way with the neutral there you can split 110 out for a grinding wheel receptacle.

Hope this gives you some additional thoughts on upgrades. After all while I"m building my copy of this you can be upgrading yours.....:D:D:D:thumbsup:

I had an old Blanchard air compressor with a rusted out tank ,I mounted it on that I take it in the yard when required and back it isn't going to win a design award but I,m not strong enough to carry it anymore so it does the job.

Since I am new here I thought I would post some old pics. I guess by 4shorts standards I would be a "minimalist" lol. My tig cart was never finished. Maybe this thread will encourage me to paint it.

THAT'S how I should have done the cord reels... In the front of the welder. That would have given me Sandman's headlight idea, and I wouldn't have made the cart wider. Maybe next time.

The best part about painting is having it done. Go for it. Finish it up!

There's nothing "Minimalist" about that creation. That is a VERY nice unit there my friend. Very nice fit and finish and no doubt it's just what you needed. The way I see it is when one can build something to suit there needs there's no wrong way to do it. Your doing it for your needs so it has to be right.

Don't laugh at me. I can see your a fuss bucket too!:laughing: nice work sir!Very nice!

That's the true beauty of knowing how to build and fabricate. We're not at the mercy of some armchair engineer restricted by the demands of a mass market. We can build the kind of thing that meets our needs perfectly even though it may be utterly useless to anyone else.

It's like what I've had in my signature for a few months. If a guy is creatively lazy enough to invent something to allow him to expend less effort or do less work, it's a good thing. Necessity may be the mother of invention, but laziness is the father.
