Joe, the City of Lewisville only started allowing the sale of beer and wine for off premises consumption a couple of years ago and the first time I bought a bottle of wine at Wal-mart, the kid at the cash register asked to see ID. I thought the dummy was kidding, but he wasn't. And my wife got upset with me. And I guess it was a little out of character for me, but I told him I really thought Walmart ought to consider hiring cashiers with a double digit IQ. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

And Harvey, I've never gotten a discount at McDonald's. Maybe that's because I so rarely go in a McDonald's. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I like their Egg McMuffins, but for anything else, there are too many other places I like better. However, Pancho's and the Golden Corral give us the senior discount. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I took my mother out for her 87th birthday on Monday. The restaurant offers a 10% discount to all Seniors (over 62). They gave a discount to 3 of the 4 person group. I asked why only 3. The answer, if I showed proof they would give me the same discount. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I paid the bill without any change. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I will be 64 next week. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I hope this is still going on when I am 74. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Our local area PD does the rounds of all the stores 3-4 times per year with the oldest looking 17yr & 360 day old kid they can find to try to bag the stores selling cigs to minors. The store I frequent regularly refuses to get caught, they card everybody. One day I was standing in line as the older gentleman in front of me was asked for his ID. He said "Sonny, I fought in WWII". "They must have given you an ID after that sir" replied the cashier /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
