Re: I\'m seeking knowledge on remote hydrolics

Mark, there are a couple places that are better than northern. I've got them bookmarked at work. I'll post them tomorrow for you.

I think you'll find that two single acting cylinders are cheaper than 1 dual acting (push & pull) cylinder.

Another option is to put a diverter valve at on your bucket curl hyrdaulic circuit. Basically your supply & return are spit into two supply & retun lines & controlled by a solenoid valve. You can curl the bucket as before, then push a botton & instead of curling, you'd angle your plow. This setup is used on the 4 in 1 buckets. If you do a search on tbn for 4 in 1 or for diverter valve you'll find more info. I attached a schematic

Re: I\'m seeking knowledge on remote hydrolics

Thanks Hazmat,
I would appreciate that. I just looked in the Northern catalog and don't see what I might be looking for in the way of valves. But then, I don't really know what I'm looking for.

Re: I\'m seeking knowledge on remote hydrolics

If you cann't add on, all you need is a single spool. just have a short hose made that will hook up to the "return to tank" side of the existing spools and into the pressure side of the new one. Then take the "return to tank" hose and plumb it into the return side of the new spool. With a couple of quick disconnects you can leave the new on on the tractor permanently for other attachments you might need.

Re: I\'m seeking knowledge on remote hydrolics

I just added a 12 volt diverter valve from V&M to my JD. They are mentioned on this site, but I don't remember where. It was called an "add a valve". An extra valve from JD was $500 plus a lot of work to install. This unit just couples into your existing outlet for your bucket and makes it into 2 outlets. Main reason I went this way was if I sell the tractor, I can remove it in 5 minutes and install on new tractor. Much easier to operate than reaching down for a remote lever all the time, too. I now use it for a 4 in 1 bucket, but am attaching an old Western plow myself, and will use it to angle the blade.

Re: I\'m seeking knowledge on remote hydrolics

split fire,
Can you tell me a little more about your V&M valve.
Where were you able to buy one ?
What was the approximate price ?
Did it come as a complete kit ?
How was it to install ?
and finaly. How do you like it ?
