Mowing I'm the proud new owner of a Jacobsen Turfcat II DW 224

With a flail mower attachment. It has 1400 hours on it, and everything runs fine. However, it was stored outside while in use and the brakes are atrocious - they don't work. Has anyone here worked on these before? I've looked at it and it looks like I'll have to replace the return spring, grease the pedal joint, and probably replace the pads for the parking brake. I'm wondering how difficult all of this is.

It's a nice mower, but I have nothing but flat land, so I'm wondering if it's worth the effort. The mower stops because of the hydraulic drive, but it would be nice to get the traction control brakes working again.

Thoughts?

Nice machine.. Particularly the flail. Probably not alot sold like that.

As to the brakes... I imagine it wouldnt be particularly difficult if your familiar with braking systems at all. Only thing may be parts. If the are Jake exclusive $$$$

The parts expense is what I was afraid of. I don't need them - I can cut the yard just fine - but I have to take wide turns because the traction control brakes don't work. Obviously, taking wide turns negates the point of having a zero turn mower.

And Scooby074 - that fine cut flail mower attachment works like a dream even after 20+ years. It cuts better than my 2006 Deere GT245 garden mower. Makes everything look like a baseball field.
