The disc works OK as far as discing up the dirt. The problem is; it moves dirt to the center of the disc in windrow fashion. Then a pain to level out again.

As your Disc is cutting satisfactorily, your center mound problem is result of imperfect gang adjustments.

1) The rear gangs throw soil inward. Too closely spaced rear gangs create the objectionable windrow. The faster you Disc, the more soil is thrown inward, worsening the center windrow.

You need to space your rear gangs farther apart. Rear gangs should be spaced a little less than pan diameter apart. If you have 20" pans, trial space rear gangs 18" apart. Creating space between rear gangs a little less than pan diameter will ameliorate or terminate objectionable windrow.

Moving gangs farther apart usually requires loosening several U-bolts then sliding gang assemblies outward on the frame. Lubricating frame, a mallet and sometimes a dowel to "encourage" friction/dust break and movement may assist.

2) Decreasing the gang angle of rear gangs will also decrease center collection. Rear "smoothing" gangs should be first adjusted two increments less aggressively than front "cutting" gangs. Then trial other increments.

I have the following:

Front mount snowblower
York Rake
Bush Hog
Land Plane
Weight Box
Sand salt modified seed spreader

While some implements I do not use a lot, they are great, but my single regret is the Spreader. My father bought it for me, brand new. It seemed like a great tool, spread sand and salt with the pto for my road. No need for a truck mounted one. Right from the start it has been a problem. The screen on the top was too big, so rocks got through and I broke 50 bucks worth of parts, On top of that, it has a large agitator to knock the sand off of the walls. it works extremely well, but also beats the ever living piss out of the inside, which has rusted due to the presence of salt. Over all, it sands the road well, but between being a pain to hook up and load, the abuse it has taken and the cost, I am regretting the purchase.

TSC rear blade. Bent while clearing less than 6" of snow

The one I regret the most is the 4'x8' chain drag harrow. It works but not that well and its in the way. Can't back up with it unless I get a special frame to hang it off my 3-pt. I found I can do just as well with my rake. Gage wheels were useless in the dirt and not much better on my asphalt millings driveway.

I had a little Yanmar 2-WD that would run under overhangs and go thru narrow spaces well. When we first bought the place it was overgrown with dew berries, poison oak, ivy, and sumac. Previous owners had filled the underbrush with all kinds of trash over the years. Still finding it after 3 years. The landscape rake was/is invaluable in combing the briars and trash our of the underbrush so we could mow it. Found it more useful for refreshing my road than the back blade so I sold the back blade. Love my 5ft rotary tiller too.

Rear blade and landscape rake. They are used so infrequently, the box blade is probably used 39 times for each time I hook to either of those, and the box blade could probably do the task I hook to that for.

The other thing I rarely use is the 3pt post hole auger. I feel my tractor is to small for it, and I think it is the price of equipment that broke my pto clutch, when I jammed on a rock and the sheer pin broke, and then jammed up.

I just realized what my most useless regretted implement is. I want to take the seldom used, yet still quality implements I posted above off the list and just add this one thing.
Lawn sweep. I needed a way to collect the mounds of grass clippings off my new lawn. I am in a low wet area and the lawn grows like crazy and leaves mounds of clippings. So I bought a lawn sweep. So useless and frustrating. It jams up and will not work on large piles of clippings. Well that is what I bought it for. I need to find a new way to collect my lawn when I mow.

I have also found the landscape rake almost totally useless. While I don't use them that often, the rotary tiller and 3 point spreader work great when I do use them. Disappointed in the ratchet rake. But....my land plane is by far the most useful thing I own. Scraping and smoothing gravel driveways that thing is unbeatable!! We have several acres of gravel parking at my church and I am amazed how beautiful they look after I get through. I wouldn't trade it for anything else. I found it much better than a box blade and by far it's easier to use. Highly recommended. I use my FEL quite a bit and would love to add a grapple...but I don't know how I could do that since the tractor it's on only has one remote.
