imported rototillers etc

Does anyone know what %age of imported tillers come from Italy? If its all or high then how do they compare to each other? Is it the case that there are a few companies making the various brands to spec? (rather like MTD does w/ mowers & tractors) How would the imports compare to domestic models?

I'm in the process of looking around for a tiller and it appears that most of whats on the market are Italian (at least as much as I can determine). So, why would you import a tiller? Is it b/c of price, quality or features...or all of the above? How is it to get parts for the imports?

We live in a world market today. Even the so called MFG's like KK use Spanish, Chinese & Italian gear boxes with tines made from Italy, Spain and India. There are many good choices out there. Take a look at the CCM Gear Drive Tillers.

I have a 40" Agric tiller from Spain. It's tough as nails and has worked perfectly for over 3 years. It'll also pull a football sized rock out of the ground without any trouble.
I'd recommend it without hestitation.

So, as a dealer, do you see all brands as pretty much the same w/i a duty rating? What is parts availability like?

BTW I did look at what you have to offer and the gear models are bit more than my tractor (TC24D) can handle. It looks like the medium duty is more in line w/my capability. I also have a mail to you asking for a shipping quote. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif jimg

Wow, thats the ticket! I live in NH and the ground exudes rocks mostly of that size. Whatever I get needs to be rather tough. Im not familiar w/ that brand though. Perhaps thats a Canadian only brand?

The NH TC24D has 18.5 or 19.5 HP depending on your transmission. The 3 point lift capacity is 1265 LBS. The MR145 is a good fit for your tractor. The MR145 will offset if your rear tires measure more than 49".

I got a Sovema from Italy. Its built like a tank and I've used it a lot on very rocky soil. I don't regret buying it.

Mine isn't fine Italian leather, it's a more down to earth KingKutter brand. It has always worked well and large stones don't seem to phase it. The slip clutch takes any excessive shock off the PTO. It also comes with my recommendation. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
