No. The hub is pretty deep, so there is plenty of room for 1 inch longer bolts.

How much does your new grapple system weigh? How are you going to hook them up? Did you take into consideration if the points of the grapple will touch the tip of the bucket when closed?

I have not purchased it yet . the top half off the grapple was 250lbs I think that is too heavy for my 1430. I was interested in the one you showed me on ebay that one only weights around 100lbs. and look heavy duty. If the teeth come down past the bucket is that a big deal. The teeth on the grapple 28" long , I only know my rock bucket is 16" tall and lm bucket is 24", would any one put a grapple on light material bucket. I see used ones at tractor store but the bigger bucketsl ook a little bent. I would build one but it would take me forever the one on ebay is only $400.

You may have to do some trial and error for best application. The teeth should just touch the point of the bucket. I believe this picture is one of those grapples on Ebay.

This picture is the one on Ebay # 7577336746 at $349.
It would appear that the grapple can be ordered to fit your bucket. I would email the seller and ask some questions. If you have the bucks, you could put two of these on your bucket, and independently control them with two valves.

This is the grapple/rootrake that I built. It is small, but it fits my needs. The shanks are box blade teeth. . I probably only have around $200. in it plus my time.

I agree , there is much room for improvement with the rough cut mower.

I've made a few mods to mine, I'll try to get pics as soon as possible.

That is one bad looking root grapple rake JJ!!! Wouldn't happened to have any action pics would you? I would love to see that thing in action. If no pics how about a story.

Hi Stray, Check back on post # 618267 04/01/05 02:36 PM
It tells all about what I stated with, and what I used for the shanks. If you are good at cutting and welding, you can make something similar to fit your machine at a very reasonable cost. Those box blade shanks are very hard and hard to drill out. Box tubing would work real fine, and you could make it as wide as you like. With the cylinder hookup, you just have to work out the geometry to make it work right. I don't have the quick-attach on my 1445, so I use that valve for the grapple.
