I own a jd 430 purchased new in 85. I did custom work with it for the first 6 years I had it at the rate of 4 to 5 thousand bales a year. mostly 4x5 bales but some 4x6. Did silage bales with it too but won't now because it was hard on the belts and bearings. Never in all the time I was doing custom work did it fail me for more than 3 hours. I had my own belt splicer which helped and knowing what bearings to keep on hand. Believe it or not I carried an extra tongue for the tractor until I built a special support for it, The new holland belt balers were also good but I never ran one so I wouldn't know about them.
