Parker and other lawn sweepers are limited by how much can be swept up in one pass. I would chop the leaves up as much as possible. Then make windrows that are light enough to be picked up by the sweeper. Parker sweepers will allow you to pick up the most in one pass.

Hey Guys,

Another question..../?
If I get a sweeper......and the sweeper is only 38"wide & the Tractor wheels are 45" wide....will the lawn look funny???.You know the Tires mash it down & the Sweeper stands it up......
I noticed that the Parkers are mostly 38" wide at least the ones that I could afford to think about.
What do you think? 38" ok???

I appreciate alll the help & the pictures were neat!
I'm also glad to see the website for the Parker Sweeper's. I think that may very well be the route I'll go.....It looks like it will help all around - picking up grass that got cut after it was longer than usual due to rain etc. Also it looks like it may pick up all kind's of crud maybe some thatch buildup & helps by standing the grass up prior to mowing so the Parker people say. And, it should pick up leaves?... Of course I'll Mulch them prior to sweeping!!! I have kept compost piles for years now & appreciate all those references to them.

I jokingly told my brother the other day that I was going to cancel my trash pick up service.
When he asked why I said with 2.33 acres and a back hoe who needs trash colllection service.
You could do the same with the leaves.

Well I ain't in trouble no-more........
I had taken my M M Mower off for the winter because it was getting hit & was in the way with all the diggin I've been doing so, I just took my little push mower & started.....
Well, their all gone now, I /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif just did as most had said & I "mulched em & left em where they lay" !!! Worked great! & there was no thick pile of tiny mulched up leaves to worry about either.
Next year I'll keep the Kubota's mower on till there all down & I'll be able to "Ride em ta death" instead of wearing out a pair of boots.

Hey, thats what I do too. Just keep circlin the tree, get closer and closer until all thats left is a small pile of "mulch" right around the tree...its like magic. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
