I have been gathering info on a BX22 over the last couple of months and all I have read seems to be nothing but good feedback. Anyway, I have a smaller lot (1 acre) and hope to buy possibly 2 more acres. Is the BX22 too much tractor for just the acre I have now? (There is a wooded area I would like to clear and level and several tree stumps that need removing.) I am new to the tractor market other than the typical garden tractor (I currently have a Craftsman 25HP.) What is the difference between a cat 0 and cat 1 3 pt hitch.

Nicklas,

The difference between categories is basically size/capacity. Cat 0 uses 5/8" top-link and lift pins, and the spacing of the lift arms is 20". For Cat 1, the pins are 3/4 and 7/8, I think, and the arm spacing is 26". Where you generally see the biggest difference is in lift capacity. I don't know what the specs call for, or if lift capacity is even specified, but Cat 1 will generally lift much heavier implements. From a practical standpoint, it is much easier to find Cat 1 implements than Cat 0 stuff (been there, done that).
