true, Carl.....but KK tillers is a gear drive in the oil bath, not chain
thanks, dozernut
I really want that 60" for $999 rather than the 72" for $1299...that's my dilemna here. I just wondered since the literature said...."required HP 25-40" instead of "Maximum HP 40HP"....if i could get by with it...I can't find what the gearbox rating for the tiller is.....only that 25-40 is REQUIRED.

SmokyMtnMan, that "required HP" is the minimum they recommend, not maximum. You can use it without voiding the warranty on anything.

If I'm not mistaken, that 40 hp rating applies to the pto hp, but I could be wrong. Maybe someone out there Knows for certain.

I have a tc40d, and I just bought a KK 72" 2 weeks ago. I have no problem running it anywhere - in a garden, new soil, old lawn, rasberry brabbles, whatever. Speed, that is forward motionof the tractor, is the most critical factor. If I go to fast, the tractor never bogs down, but the resulting tillage is coarse.
I hope this helps your decision, I had the same concerns.

Nick
