Melissa:

I would buy a Millionzi type grapple tomorrow if it were available. I was ready to buy from them based on all the feedback in this forum. The combination of the width (48 inch) and the weight (@ 300 lbs) was the best combination. Please let me know if you decide to manufacture a similar product. Another plus from feedback in this forum were the slightly curved lower tines.

Same pretty much goes for me so I am looking forward to see what Markham has to offer. I even had an order placed with Johnny Millonzi for a 60" grapple before they fell off the face of the earth. The last correspondence I got from him was dated 6/11/08 and read;

"Thanks for the order Marty. It has been great working with you. We will start your order today and should ship on Monday or Tuesday next week. Once it is ready, I will call you for your credit card information on Monday. If you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to call or write
Johnny"

The real kicker was he gave me "GREAT" price break because we had just been hit by 3 nasty tornadoes in the area and I was donating my tractor time for the clean-up. The clean-up got done, but it sure wasn't as much fun as it could have been.

you gotta give this to Millonzi - he didn't take your money. My experience with him was all good, sometimes the breaks go against you in business.

Hey Melissa!! Glad you made it over to TBN from my favorite company! I don't know if you remember but I bought a toothbar and a grapple at the same time. . . .gosh, must've been a year and a half ago now! I love them both! I think that you coming on here and posting this thread is really high-class professionalism at its best!

Oh, I don't think you ever used the photos I emailed you of my new "toys" in action on the website like you said you may. Don't worry, I won't ask for royalties!;) Here are some different ones:

Melissa:

Please post pictures when you have them. Do you have any specs on the grapple?

I had another thought Melissa that you might want to run by Alan, and I am sure the TBN crew here will voice some input as well.

Take a Pallet Fork Frame.

Make it so it mounts on the pin's on the loaders like the NH 7308.

That way you could use it as regular pallet forks.

Now Make some tines that would be lighter, but go into standard pallet fork mount spacing. You slide on 4 or 6 of these tines and you would have a skeleton bucket.

Now, put a pivot mount on the top horizontal bar of the pallet frame, and either on the bottom of the same bar, or maybe a seperate bar underneath put pin on points for a grapple assembly that you could pin on.

So, then you would have (actually I guess I would have) a pallet frame and forks that would also act as a skeleton bucket with removable grapple...........

I think you have all the peices, it would just be a matter of making them play together. And you could sell it all as a complete unit, or Ala Carte, or probably sell the frame, the skeleton bucket parts and the grapple as a unit, let folks pick up their own forks local.

I would like the grapple to easily unpin and QD so that I could pull it off when using pallet forks, to clear, and also so that it does not eat my lift capacity when I am working at the max end of that machines capabilities.

I will volunteer to be the first test subject............. :D

Wedge

That's a 66" HD grapple on a 62hp tractor. It's pretty heavy(duty) but the other day I had used it to gather up a bunch of downed limbs then I picked them ALL up AT ONCE with the grapple. It looked like I was carrying a whole forest! Took it to the really big brush pile! Dangit, didn't take any pictures.

Can someone please explain to me how to measure my bucket for a toothbar?? The website is a little confusing to me. Why do you have to measure 8" back from the edge??

"****Please Note: When ordering a Tooth Bar for your bucket, please measure your bucket 8" back (from the tip of the Cutting Edge ) inside the bucket, then measure all the way across the inside of the bucket (from Side to Side). We will custom build the Tooth Bar using your measurement minus ¼". Please make sure the measurement is correct."
