Initial things to do?

I just bought a set of pallet forks (xomplete quick hitch unit" from "Quick Attach".

Since my DK45 has such a high lift capacity and break over force, i wanted to have a set of forks that can handle it. These are rated at 4,000#.

Ive been amazed at the amount of times ive already used them.

Oh, and congrads on the tractors. your going to love it.

Not for pallets but for like grabbing brush or breaking into clay and compact dirt, a friend with a much bigger machine uses the teeth along the bottom edge and a hook at the top of the FEL to lash and moves oversized things. Just thinking that teeth along the bottom might be a good thing. Something that could be bolted off and on.

After reading all the recent post it looks like what I'm thinking about is a tooth bar.

This is all very new to me, never had a tractor before, been here for 33 years on the same 5 acres with house shop and horse barn. Only real piece of farm equipment has been a 25 foot hay conveyor. Decided to get the Kioti and see just what new things it will open up me to. Should be fun just to see what happens.

Toothbars are very useful for digging. Cost about $300-375. For mowing brush either a true grapple or adding a grapple arm to a bucket is way better than a bucket alone. Cost about $500-700 for bucket grapple arm addition or 1000-1500 for true grapple and simple controls. Search here on TBN and you will find reams of information on all of these things.

I'm picking up a DK45SE HST in a week or so, my first tractor, should I get forks for the FEL that can be that can be taken on and off, 72 inch FEL that comes with the tractor. Retired hobby farmer, starting with Woods bushhog, back blade 6 foot, FEL 72inch.

I have a set of QA hay forks. I prefer being able to lift a round bale from the bottom if I need to and have it be stable. With a set of hay forks I can pick up an open bale, with a spike you'll have the bale come apart.

The spacing on the hay forks also allows me to move pallets around.

duanekeys, thanks for the good info, I have had the tractor for a little more then a week and very happy with it. Kioti makes one heck of a good machine.

my pallet forks have been very usefull ! I can pile alot of brush on the forks . I know a brush grapple would be nice , but the forks will have to be good for now.

I agree with carhartt66, forks would do lots of stuff, might be able to add one of those bucket clamps, I'm going to try hard for bush grapples, Markham Gator looks good. Still looking, been spending a good deal of time on everything attachments, good web page that was pointed out from some of you here.
