I need to remove my injector pump for a rebuild. I removed all the bolts & nuts from the top. Tapped lightly on the body with a brass bar. The pump
popped up about 1/4" and that's as far as I can get it. It's hung up on something below. My manual is not very discriptive about the removal procedure.

Anyone here ever remove the injector pump on a 4 cylinder Kubota, and
care to offer some advice ?

I'm at a complete standstill. I need to get this thing out, and rebuilt.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !:)

I just noticed you do not have the injector pump cover removed... That is the plate with 4 bolts and the word stop written on it. Take that cover off and the pumps should lift right out. KennyV

It's out. Thank you. Had to slide the rack to align pin with slot in block to remove.

Has anyone here ever dismantled one of these for inspection / rebuild ?
I know cleanliness is of utmost importance. But, is this something a meer mortal can accomplish, or is it taboo, and only for the Injector Gods ?

Before I took it down, I remove my hard lines at the IP, and cranked the engine over. Two of the four ports were sperting fuel up about 1 1/2".
Nothing from the center two. I removed the caps from the center two, and
could not get the plungers out with a small magnet. I think they are siezed
by dirt , etc. Anyway, the two that are working don't seem to be sperting
far enough. I called an injector shop and asked how far these should "spert
up", and was told at least 6". Makes me wonder.

Hate the thought of giving someone over $500.00 to do something I can do.
Not to mention the 100 mile delivery drive.:(

If you are seeing dirt in there then there is likely a good chance that everything is scored from the dirt. Dirt and IP are a bad combo. I wish you luck but it might be bad. You have not much to loose but taking it apart and cleaning it up. Make sure you don't mix pieces from different holes. Let us know how you make out. Injection systems are one of the more interesting parts of an engine.:)

It's bad. Real bad. The injector shop I took the pump & injectors to called
yesterday & told me the pump has an internal fracture. I decided to order
a complete new pump assembly. Ouch!

Had my injectors "pop" tested also. They told me they all leak, so I'm having
all 4 rebuilt.

When the new pump arrives I plan on reinstalling the shims that were under the old pump. I hope the timming stays the same as before.
