Injector trouble

you can not pour oil down the intake of a diesel. It will run on oil and run away with its self.

How about using the compression release so it could be cranked quickly by the starter, thereby bleeding the air out of the pump? With little resisitance, the battery would last a long time and the starter shouldn't get too hot.

Just an idea.

Nice idea if it has one. Not all tractors have one. I have had three diesel tractors two did not have on and the smallest one did.

My opinion! Buy Nothing!
Step by step!
First 1- Remove injectors and TAKE COMPRESSION (more 250 lbs in.)
2- Connect injectors outside engine and CHECK INJECTiON SPRAY by crank or start motor (must be very fine as atomized)
3- If not spray loose the nut at connection of injector for REMOVE AIR IN LINE you start until no bubbles or air ant tight nut
4- CHECK IF FUEL in Injection Pump, filter , or tank etc.
Good luck!

I was about to order new injectors for mine.I decided to take out the bad one and take it apart. It was covered with carbon.I cleaned it using brakeparts cleaner, diesel, and an old toothbrush. After I reinstalled it , my tractor runs better than it ever did.I'm now running on 3 cylinders instead of just 2.

Hi All
Yes I have ordered them already(dumb I guess) they should be in this week sometime. I did clean them but did not check spray pattern of them.I guess one way to look at it I will have spare injectors HAHA I hope to get it running I haven't taken a comp. test with the injectors out yet will shortly though. Tech. told me it might have a blown head gasket with the 2 cyl. having a low reading, that I took through the glow plug holes but I think one injector was leaking??

Doubtful that a leaking injector would lower compression.

If you put an injector in the cylinder that is lowest and turn the engine over by hand, you would be able to hear a leak between cylinders. (to check for a blown head gasket.

You could have had a ring collapse from sitting so long. Running the engine and getting it back to temperature could fix that problem.

Never heard of this. Usually the top 2 rings are beveled on the inside to aid in compression forcing them out. The only thing I've seen with rings and sitting engines are cracked rings. The cylinder with dry out, rust a bit, and stick to the wall, then crack when moved. They'll ususlly still hold up for a while.
