I have read a few post concerning how it's hard to get attatchments on the BX 3pt. I'm sure I will find out soon enough but until then I was just wondering. Why is it any harder than any other 3pt? I had an 8n that was not all that difficult. Is it because of the small size?

I think it is because of the small size/weight limits for the BX models. The BX's are just a step above a garden tractor, not quite a compact tractor, hence the title, subcompact.

Guy,

I have a BX2200 and personally, I don't it all that difficult to hook things up. I have a middle buster, carry all, and tiller. The middle buster is probably the most difficult, but as soon as I get around to building some sort of cradle/stand for it, it should be ok. It actually came with the pins turned in, and I had to turn them out to get it hooked up. With them turned in, there wasn't enough clearance between the pin and the frrame to get the lift arms on. The tiller is a little time-consuming, but not particularly difficult. As long as you take the time to loosen the turnbuckles on the stabilizers, there seems to be enough clearance for what I've tried. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I have the bar tires. Maybe the turfs get in the way more?

I apologize for not being specificto the BX, but general, however, I have found a rubber mallet to help. Not a framing hammer or a ball pen, but to ooch it with a mallet seems to do the trick for me.
If I am out to lunch let me know?
Otherwise, a little influence-with no damager-has worked.
I keep it in the “tool kit”.

The relatively small spread of the 3-point arms cause them to be at a greater angle than on my 2410 for example. I have that mounting implements is easier with the pins pointed inward and I have it both on my own experience and the dealer that putting the pins inward is an acceptable practice and if you look in the BX brochure you will see the pins inward on the boxblade. The other problem with the BX is that it's lower stance makes it diffucult for some implements--such as post hole diggers---to clear the ground when raised. If you do a search though for BX post hole digger threads you will see it is not a problem if you use some shopping sense when you get a digger. The other problem is that there just are not many implements available for small tractors and I include stuff like the 7500 and 2410 and JD4100 and TC18 and TC21 etc when I say small. You have to be careful also with some implements like my Heard M-96 PTO spreader that you do not lift it all the way up or the top link will ram into the cross piece on the back of the tractor and bend one or both. You just have to figure things out--implements do not come with much of a manual. There is a big jump between the junk at Home Depot--Agri fab and Brinely LT attachments and big UT tractor implements both in size and cost and weight and durability. I wish someone would make something inbetween and at least KK is trying. J

I have found making a dolly helps a lot to get the tiller, snowblower, FEL, and weight box onto the 3 pt and or points for the FEL. You can move the implement around and make the adjustments you need.. Also moving the implement around the shed a lot easier too. And yes a rubber mallet helps too! To make a dolly all I did was to get some 2x4's, put four 3 inch screws in each corner and use 3 inch wheels from Home Depot ( $4.79 each), and you have a dolly. Guess if you have a welder and know how to weld, you can make something more heavy duty. But given the low weight of the implements, so far the 2x4’s have held up OK.

Enjoy your new machine!
