Installing a remote control to 12v hydraulic pump tilt bed trailer

Sorry Frank, I don't have a schematic. I don't know if yours is like mine, it takes some testing figuring out what does what. On my trailer, the motor has to get power and the right solenoid powered at the same time. The double relay card I used basically takes the wireless receiver 2 channels, and gives you 4. Although these are not heavy duty components, it is cheap and very handy. I now have several cycles on mine, and it has worked great.

Hey Wirenut, Can you post a few close up pictures of the wiring?

Thanks
Frank

You do not need the transistor driven relay boards with the cheap ebay boards made for winches the on board relays have enough capacity to drive the DPDT relay directly, just go to Radio Shack and get a 12v coil DPDT 10 amp relay and wire 12v to common pole on remote board and drive the relay with each output. Then one pole of each relay puts 12v to the motor relay and the other pole to the direction solenoid.

I'll try. Most is encased in tubing. I'll what i can do.

The relay board has 2-DPDT relays on it, needed operate motor up and proper up solenoid, motor down and proper down solenoid And it only cost $10.00

I would worry about the contacts on the signal relays on the board, that is why I am using relays with 10 amp contacts as the inrush current on a solenoid can be quite high.

Like I said, Cheap and easy. I already got my use out of it. You may be right about the inrush current, time will tell. I now have a really "hot" battery on the trailer, so I guess I'll get a good test of current capacity of the relays.;)

Hi David, If I get you some detailed photos of my motor, relay board (Plug in relay) and solenoids, could you guide me where the wires go.
I am afraid if hook up the wires wrong I may short something out.

Thanks
Frank
