Those look great, I went to the website but still can't figure out exactly what holds them on. Do they wedge themselves in behind the top edge of the bucket?

You are correct on how they mount. They fit very snuggly around the top edge and have triangle shaped supports to fit on the backside of the bucket. Attached are some photos of my ratchet rake but you can see how the bucket hooks mount. It is locked in place with the V shaped bracket.

I see that you have a BX2660. If you are looking for a different option other than welding or drilling a hole, you may be interested in what BXpanded has to offer Bucket Hooks. They mount and dismount in seconds. Attached is a picture of mine along with their brush forks.

A lot of good points, the bxexpanders seem nice but a bit pricey for $179, probably will do the weld on style

I welded my chain hooks to my bucket after welding on some mounting plates to stiffen the bucket lip. If I was to do it again, I would still weld on the mounting plates for stiffness but I would weld the hooks onto steel bases with drilled holes and bolt them on. I would make the holes the same spacing as 4x4 tow hooks so I would swap them out if needed.

Those snap in hooks are neat!

Harbor Freight and Northern Equipment both have bolt on hooks and D rings. I have a BX25 and it has a center curl cylinder; not one on each side. I determined it would not be good to unevenly load both or one side of the bucket, both from a stability (safety) and a structural standpoint. Used the D rings (hooks won't fit on my bucket the way I did it) and mounted one below and one above the cylinder attachment on the back side. That gives me an attachment point either with the bucket curled up or down and puts all the load on the hydraulics dead center. Had to add a 3/4" block under the lower one to clear the cylinder. I can lift more; safer, and not torque the frame bucket. Used Grade Five 1/2" carraige bolts, head inside the bucket. If I break those bolts it is not the tractor's fault but faulty bolts, bolts take more than the tractor will put out. Yes you have to file out for those square shanks. I was going to heat and broach but did not want to burn the paint. Use it a lot for lifting and pulling stuff.

So then if I imagine pulling straight forward on that hook, the thing resisting the pull is the top lip of the bucket? My lip doesn't seem that strong, I would think the back edge of that triangular piece would have to be fastened somehow to keep the lip from rolling over under the load of the hook. Maybe I'm still missing something...

Hopefully Harry from BXpanded will chime in so I don't say something wrong. The entire unit is clamped down with the metal V shaped locking device.

I just noticed something, you have a B2710 and these hooks will not fit your FEL bucket. As of right now, Harry is only making them for the BX series.

I got the 5/16 hook, it actually works with 1/4, 5/16, and 3/8 chain.

With the heavy duty round back bucket that has the pipe upper edge, there was no need to add additional support plates.

I should have mentioned that my bucket is one of the light models, it would need to be strengthened to weld directly on to it. LA513

Thanks, yeah my L5030 bucket is just like yours. The dealer put hooks on our 8540 and before I could get my son to reinforce it, the center hook was bent. I don't lift anything heavy with the center hook, but my sons do.
