Looks great, I recently did a tear-out and rebuild (well, it's almost done) with a gas fireplace in our living room. I can't imagine doing it twice. Good job.

Richard, please make sure you read and clearly understand the manufacturers installation requirements regarding installing fossil burning equipment in bedrooms. Also, please install a carbon monoxide detector in the bedroom; and ensure your unit has an oxygen sensor, and that it is working. The oxygen sensor should shut down the unit if oxygen is depleted in the bedroom. The carbon monoxide detector should alert you if high levels of carbon monoxide are present in the room.
While manufactures will state their unvented appliances are safe, they were tested in laboratories and were "expertly tuned" to ensure the oxygen sensors were working correctly and that a minimum amount of carbon monoxide is given off. In reality, when fossil burning appliances are installed in the field, they have been jostled during shipping and installation, and may no longer be "expertly tuned".
Also, no one should sleep in the room when the appliance is operating. With carbon monoxide, you only get one chance.

Please don't think I am trying to rain on your parade, because I am not. I have some first hand knowledge of the dangers of carbon monoxide and I don't want to see anyone go through the problems that a few hours of breathing carbon monoxide can bring.

I'd say it would be pretty much worthless if you can't sleep in the bedroom with it. After all, thats what a bedroom is for isn't it? Oh, well I guess there are other uses /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

We tend to use both our fireplaces only when we are up. We get home from work, turn it (downstairs) on, when the place warms up and we're ready for bed, we turn it off. I don't think we'll ever try to sleep with this one on..besides, it's sort of self limiting...

Wifey didn't want a large LP tank outside, so I use a larger version of the grill tank. I think it's about 50% larger than the typical tank for a grill.
Pain in the neck to keep swapping out, but MUCH easier than lugging the 100 lb tank around, so I dont' use those. I have them as backup in case we get snowbound.
