Instant Pond

Our area was in moderate draught mode. The pond was down about 4.5 feet. This morning, with a 1.5 inch rain gully washer, it was back full and overflowing in an hour. View attachment 678043 Thus the name..................Instant Pond.

That's amazing to see the color of the water after a gully washer filling it. Most ponds here would look like cocoa after a fill like that, from all the silt runoff.

Thanks for the picture, that really shows how the ponds fit together on your land nicely. Do you still have the ducks?

Thanks Eddie. As you well know, they are lots of work getting to look like this. I got 18 ducks flying and swimming around. They come up when I call them. I also got 40 month old Mallards penned in the rearing cage.

I put Blue Bayou pond dye in them. The small pond would be a silty, red from the red clay around it without the dye. The large pond has flow going thru it when full and it clears nicely. It has a sandy/yellow clay on one side and red clay on the other side. The large pond doesn't need pond dye much now, as it is aerated now.
