You missed the whole point here.
Are you saying I should be upset about the way I was treated ?
I have no idea where your coming from there.

I will sum it up for you again. No, never mind. I tried, your on your own.
Perhaps I should sum it up for you in a shorter
post easier to follow. You seem to feel that the insurance companies and adjusters are out to control the entire body repair industry and that people who own shops cannot make it because of that control. I was pointing out that my body shop I use is doing fine and that I am very happy with the treatment of my insurance company in getting my claims settled to my satisfaction. Is that better and a bit easier to understand.

Thank you for your link about the insurance industry and anti trust. I had forgotten about states having an insurance commisioner for regulation.

Killer B

I just had an interesting letter in the mail I wanted to tell you about. I am posting it because it is a topic that others may not know about and probably should.

I got a notification that I was a member of a class action lawsuit against Farmers Insurance Group. The letter said that records showed I had been a customer of Farmers Insurance Group. The records indicated that I had been in an automobile accident. A person had brought the class action suit against Farmers because they did not pay diminished value of automobiles that had been in a wreck.

I had been in a small wreck while a member of farmers and they did not pay me diminished value.

Do you pay diminished value on claims. I am not aware of many insruance companies that do unless the person is knowledgeable enough to negotiate for it. I find it interesting that there is now a class action suit for not doing that.

Gemini,

I have not handled an auto claim in over 15 years. Back then, we did not.

I have had a couple of claims over the years. The most recent one was last week where someone had backed into my truck in a parking lot and then drove off without giving me a name or phone number. I did not get compensated for diminished value I probably wont do that I pay enough in premiums now. If the plaintiff prevails in that lawsuit I wont get enough money to cover the increase in premiums for one month I bet.

That would be a great statement to have in writing. Everyone I talk to is very clear that "Liability" is not covered.
Makes sense to me.
Seems most standard homeowner policies only provide property damage coverage; and then only while the tractor is on your own personal property.
Take the Tractor off your property and the coverage is gone for both Property damage and libility not just property damage.

As an insurance agent I find many people don't have their CUT's covered correctly. With most companies unless you schedule the machine it will not be covered for overturn and will not provide replacement cost coverage. You can add off premise liablity for small amount & incidental business pursuits for landscaping if you only do it part time & make little or no money.
One thing to note, most churches or large business policies take $1,000 to $10,000 deductable, just depends on the size of the business.
Lets say I had this coverage and was digging a trench and hit and damaged a utility line.
Now my question is would the insurance company pay the claim if i had failed to call before you dig?
