Keep the Fluke and learn to use it.
Hope it has a 10 or 20 amp scale.
Get a $30 battery load tester if you feel motivated in that direction.

heh cute......yeah after 35 years just bout got hang of using one of them thingy-ma-jigs........
After working on a G37x and trouble shooting P0340, P0345, and P0335 code it's possible not to be the sensors; but AC ripple beyond allowed specs due to Alternator diode.
Hence the desire to acquire a quality test tool for multiple troubleshooting of various equipment......

Now where's my booklet on the Fluke-ah-mah-thang....

Super stupid...but have you lost any weight? If I adjust seat to where it won't bottom out on decent bumps for me, mrs CMV can't start the NX because she isn't enough weight on the seat :)

Thought of that when you said son was on seat - if big weight difference that could have been it that time.

 Nah.......lol......but did noticed that if the brakes are set for a while it will not start. Release the brake then step on the brakes and it starts.

With the positive terminal replaced with a marine grade unit I think I've drilled down to all the obvious fail points.
Now suspect the switch. Machine stays indoors 90% of the time so don't suspect weather/water intrusion......oh wat....wait.....duh.... I do hose the machine down all around......maybe my water hose method is not welcomed by the switch.....

Keeping an eye on it. Just did my annual on the cutter and machine cranked right up each time....so time will tell.

Wish I was more disciplined though. If I reduced another 12 lbs. I'd be off BP meds......sigh ......
being hardheaded is a curse at times..;)

I'm glad I saw your post. I had a similar problem recently and it drove me bonkers. I could jump start the tractor but sometimes it wouldn't start with the ignition switch. Come to find out the wire connector for the ignition switch was not plugged in fully. I took it apart, cleaned the dirty terminals, put die-electric grease all over it and snapped it back together. No more problems now.

Glad it worked out JimR.......
So for now Y-Lee has been starting up without fail.

However, thank you for the tidbit about the ignition switch.

So if it starts acting up it will be my first go to.
Since the brake and range selector are now out of the equation.:D
