Just picked up a 9 foot International Disc for $100. It's old and not pretty but the price was right. You have to love Kijiji!

It's nothing but a harrow. Are you going to use it maintain roadways or weight it up try to scratch some ground?

Hope it has greasable bearings.............they save lives and money in the end.

How will you raise and lower it for the turns or are you planning on adding a cylinder and tires?
IH makes good discs, I have one and it has made my IH plow just about obsolete, does a good job of working up the ground. It is a heavy brute and makes my 145 hp tractor work hard pulling it.

I'm sure he knows what it is, but I'm not positive you do. Maintain roads? It's a disk harrow, used to prepare soil for planting. I'm also really confused how greasable bearings save lives? Then again, I may have completely misunderstood what you were saying. If so, sorry about that.

$100 sounds like a steal to me. Nice find.

These "drag" type discs were designed to take the corners very well and don't need to be raised with a cyl. Good Buy and nice looking machine. We had a guy drive in from 5 hrs away and picked a similar disc last week. Ken Sweet

That triangle in the middle is a nice spot to put field rocks and roots while discing to help clean off the field. The spacing on that disc looks like 6 inch between blades instead of 7 1/2 or 9 inch. If it is the case, we call those finishing discs and they will leave a really nice seedbed. Ken Sweet

That's a nice deal! It pivots in the center so curves shouldn't be a problem.
You won't take many curves with our 15' Case IH 475 disc not like that one.

Thanks for all the comments. I'll be giving it a try in the morning. The fellow who sold it to me used it on 2 acres for the past 20 years or so. He told me he only paid $100 for it so he figured if he sold it for $100 he did really well. The disks are 16 inches and spaced 6 inches apart just like you pointed out Ken.

I have access to one that is just like that but never did know what brand it was. The one I use is 11' though. At least that is what I was told. It need some work though. Thanks for the pictures. You got a great deal.

allis chramers 2500,2600 series disc are cheap to they range from 15-21' .
also lots of ford plows cheap
