Just bought a 2014 1000 cc diesel Intimidator, picked it up last Tuesday. I've only had time to ride it for about 10 minutes. One of the accessories I got for it was a basket that mounts on roll bars above the dump bed. The dealer mounted it way out from level, looked bad so I'm in the process of modifying the brackets to level it up. Once that is done I want to build a rear bumper & install some pipe guard rails around the bed & fenders - want to protect the plastic. I know when I get it in the woods I will be rubbing up against trees & brush to get to where I want to be at. Had a spray-in liner installed, looks great. I also upgraded to the glass windshield & aluminum top. Intimidator offered $1000 in accessories right in the middle of the sale, still waiting to hear back if I qualify for this, hope so there are a few more items I would like to add.
I know intimidators are new, been out for two years, so I will share my experiences good & bad if any as I use/work it. It will be a few more months before I retire again (September) before I will really start using it to work with, until then will be just a toy. Will post some pictures when I figure out how. LOL.

Subscribed. Thanks for posting.

I don't know much about Kohler diesels, other than I've heard nothing bad about them.

I will be following your thread with interest. Enjoy the new toy (er, serious work tool :D) and upcoming retirement.

Congrats on the new ride, looking forward to hearing some real world experience thoughts on it.

The bed rails are a great idea, my Gator has rails all the way around it and I can tell you they've earned their keep.

If you need some closeup pics of how Deere makes their rails let me know and I can try to get you some....I think they did a great job with them they offer good protection without getting in the way. The side rails attached in the rear only to the bumper works great....then they put a plate up front that bolts to the frame. Same on the front the side rails are continued off the front bumper then hook to the floor pan with a flat plate. Mine have been well tested and other than a reshaping of my rear bumper when I couldn't dig my way down to the hitch to hook a tow strap too and it got a nice "V" pulled into it the rails and bumpers are in great shape even after a good bit of abuse.

I've heard Kohler have never produced low cubic capacity diesel engines until last year.

Kohler diesel = Lombardini

Ah, so they ended with a contract.
From what I've read about year ago, they where planning to design their own diesels.

From what I understand Kohler bought them 6-8 years ago.

Dixiedog if you get a chance some detail pictures of the guards would be great. I'm still trying to come up with how exactly I'm going to build them. It will be a fun project once I get started. I should finish modifing the basket this week. I might haul the Intimidator to Houston in a couple of weeks so I will have more time to build the guards over the weekends. I only have a couple of hours during the week days to work on it. On the weekends I travel to Houston Texas to be with my wife. Another 6 months to go.

The Engine 411 that you guys just posted is a good example of why I hang out on here.

I'm also interested in seeing how this new line stands up to work loads.
