Hello!
I just ran across this forum and thought I'd join.
I have a 1953 Ford Golden Jubilee that is used for mowing a 3 acre field. I use it with a 5 foot finish mower. I also used it for snow, with chains and a back blade, but can't do that any more, because of health problems.
It is my third Ford, I had an 8n in California that I used to mow most of a subdivision of 5 acre mini ranches with a 5 foot bush hog. It was very hilly, too hilly to mow when it was wet, so in summer, I'd be mowing grass that was upwards of 5 feet tall, mostly for fire protection.
When I moved back to Michigan, I missed the old 8n, so bought another, although I REALLY wanted a Golden Jubilee. When time came for some heavy repairs, my wife suggested that rather than repair the 8n, I sell it and buy a Jubilee. Wives are good, if you get the right one!
