The clearance is an issue - especially if you are in mud. Will the 7610 be enough for my needs? Maybe I should buy the neighbor's used TC30. I have a some tight places I would have to use it in though - its almost to big and bulky. Kioti 1914 - w/shuttle?

The BX23 has the ag style tires which are self cleaning, AND I would consider them semi-flotation as well.

You will find the BX23 can do most jobs (stumps are not it's forte, however) that the larger tractors can do but it does take more time and effort. Rather than taking a full bite, you may have to take two half-a-bite's.
The FEL definitely benefits from a toothbar for even the mildest digging (a $ 275 option). I usually break up our Virginia red clay with the backhoe, the scoop with the FEL.
Great tractor, but it is only a 23 HP unit. It has it's limitations, but I'm very happy with my BX22.

The Kubota BX and B series tractors are great machines, but they are light in weight, which means less traction. While they are ceratinly capable of doing a lot of work, a heavier tractor would be even more capable (for the kind of projects you describe). Parts availability for the Kioti is really not a problem.
The LB1914 is a very capable tractor. It is one of the few that I am aware of with a shuttle shift in a smaller CUT. My LK3054 is 1000lbs heavier than than the LK1920, and twice the weight of a BX23, and I am still traction limited many times (I'm doing similar kinds of projects to what you described). Some of this may be due to the R4 (industrial) tires, but most of it is due to weight. My advice would be to look seriously at the LK1920 with R1 tires. You should be able to make a good deal on this tractor, as it is an older (and proven) design. If you want to stay with Kubota, then look at the L2800 - it is a bigger tractor, but you will pay more.
Note that neither the LK1914 or the L2800 have live PTO.

I have owned the BX22 for exaclty 1 year. I have put 185 hours during this time about half mowing. I have 5 acres with a creek and flooding problems. I have dug approximatley 800 feet with the backhoe through roots and rocks, some roots had to be cut by hand but I was still impressed with the BH. I have had the tractor in the creek to dig a waterline across the creek. The rocks had to be worried out by jiggling the controls but they came out without a shovel. I am extremely impressed at the fuel economy of this tractor. I have used the BH 8 hours on one tank which is less than 6 gallons and mow almost 4 flat acres on approx 4 gallons. The tractor has to be moved every 4 feet when using the BH, but this only takes a few seconds and you are digging again. The FEL is strong and can dig well, if you need to dig then teeth are a must. I have posted several projects which some really tested the strength of this tractor. I have never been disappointed. The problem I have now is that my projects that do not involve the tractor are getting way behind. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I came very close to buying a BX22, but bought the B7500 instead about 2 years ago. My property sounds similar, 2.5 acres, half wooded. The BX is a great tractor and probably would have done most of everything I have attempted to do. My deciding factor was ground clearance and the lift capacity of the fel and 3pt. On the ground clearance issue, I have to deal with soft sand on the beach and mud in the woods. I have gotten stuck (temporarily) on the beach once and been up to my axles in mud several times in the woods without getting stuck. I have been thankful for the extra clearance during those times. One of the most useful times I have been grateful for the greater lift capacity has been in handling firewood. With my tractor I have developed a system of palletizing all of my firewood. One board is close to a half cord. My B7500 can just barely lift a full board. The B7500 has roughly 50% more lift capacity than the BX. This has been significant for me. If you don't plan on heavy lifting with the 3pt., then this is a non-issue. As far as stump removal, Junkman has posted some pretty impressive stumps that he has removed with his BX22. However, I think my stumps are bigger and better than his stumps/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. If you want, I can post pics of my B7500 with stumps and pallets of firewood. Once again it is all relative. I also think the fear of the Kubota 3pt BH is overrated. I have used mine extensively and have not had a problem yet. With practice it is easy to remove and reinstall. You've got a lot of decisions coming up and of course we love to spend your money, so with that in mine I suggest an L3130 with the BH90. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Sure don't wanna' seem like any traitor here 'cause I love my BX2200 for a hundred reasons, one of 'em bein' a tight turn radius, BUT if I went to a bigger class of tractor I'd still want that tight turn radius. Where do you get it in a regular CUT? In a NH with Super-Steer (not only do the wheels turn, the front axle pivots too). If I were in your situation, I'd be lookin' for a NH TC45DH with super-steer. If that's too much $, look around for a used TC33D with super-steer. This could give you more tractor than a BX but still with that tight turnin' you wanna' do in the woods. RebelYell's right about the BX FEL, it won't dig ('specially in clay) without that tooth bar.
