I agree with Bob. If you do this commerically, I think you need to look at another blower based on your recount and the overall design of the blower.

Meteor out of Canada makes a great blower. Mine is 75" with hydraulic chute. It hasn't plugged yet.

Snow...

Attached is a picture of my fan housing exit dimensions for comparison. There is a very clean departure from the fan blades to the chute.

I just took some pictures of my blower. My fan is a 3 blade design, it is just over 23" in diameter and about 8" deep. The chute is about 9" in diameter and the transition tube seems to have a good design in how it is integrated into the chute. The transition tube is wider than the fan so the snow doesn't meet resistance when it enters the transistion tube. The transition tube is also very short compared to SnowSebs. And then the chute itself looks very similar to JimMorrisey's & MadReferees chutes in that it doesn't rise at a straight verticle, it starts out at an angle right from the base, is shorter, and it follows the shape of the transition tube.

While reading this thread, I noticed the ads at the top of the page. The pieces that I mentioned earlier in the thread are sold by a company in Canada. Here is a link to there web page. I had installed a set of these on a old snowblower and they improved the performance of that machine. I am thinking of installing a set on my Kubota snowblower even though its performance is good already, but I know that these will make it better... Junk......

Snowseb, I just finished clearing the plowmound from my driveway with my 8horse MTD and I have another suggestion for you. With the little hand operated machine, when the snow is too wet it stalls out if I keep the wheels in gear as well as the auger. I can avoid this by releasing the drive handle. The fan clears the auger and I can advance into the snow a few more feet (inches /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif) Could your tractor mounted blower be clogging because you are feeding it too fast?
Just a thought I had using my little machine under heavy load. Sure wish I had a(nother) 7800 here in NJ at my weekday house /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have a 78" Agrotrend from Canada, this winter is season # 6 and I've only plugged the shute once. I normall run at 80% pto speed, if the snow is wet and deep I'll step it up to 540.

I plugged mine by overrunning the first stage, I wasn't paying attention and my blower turned into a plow....

SnowSeb ,
We have used 1/2 " Telfon plastic sheets to line the chutes. We would just replace liners as they began to wear out . I don't know where they(the mechanic's) purchased it from . That was many, many years ago ,when I use to work for Caltrans in the winter plowing snow on Interstate 80 . Is your "Discharge Fan" driven by hydraulic motor or off the pto drive . My Trackless 3ph 70 " Snow Blower is pto ran on the main flights but the discharge fan is a Hydraulic drive motor . It works well as long as I don't bog it down .
