Is the backhoe stabilzer foot reversible?

Jaybrad-- I think the trick is to pull the pin, rotate the foot, and put the pin back in the SAME hole

Is there an echo in here?

Pull the pin flip it over and reinsert the pin, (looks like in the same hole). Then, it will not be able to flip to where the rubber is down?

I sure hope one of us is right :D

Yup-- it's an echo. Sorry, I must have slipped right by your response, ray66v- I came to the same conclusion.

After a day of trying different combinations, I think the bottom line is that the way the foot is made, it doesn't naturally work with the prongs facing down, even with the rubber inserts removed it still flipped on its side.

So I just helped it get into place while standing on the ground, then hopped up into the seat to continue. Not ideal, but better than using the rubber feet in the woods.

It seems like if a couple of the holes were moved about 1/2", it would be a lot more effective.

Hey, guys-- Think there's a possibility that maybe jaybrad's 2310 was delivered with the pin not in the "correct" hole to begin with?

Have a look at my pic #3 back a page, and compare to jaybrad's on page one-- in order to work properly, the pin needs to be in the far hole on the side opposite the metal cross-brace piece.

If jaybrad's pin was on the same side as the cross-brace when he got the tractor (as it shows in the photo) and he "put it back in the same hole" after flipping the foot....

I've tried every possible combination of pin placement both with and without the rubber pads attached and the results are the same. It just doesn't spin enough so that the points dig into the ground.

I'm also not big on the way the metal plate hits the hydraulic cylinder when I raise the foot with it in that position.

It seems like if the two middle holes were just a hair closer to the brace itself, that the pin would actually do something and help hold it in place. As it is, those two holes don't seem to have a function on this model backhoe.

Nonetheless, I have been able to haul some pretty good rocks, and have the battle scars (on the machine) to prove it. No worries, I also have a can of touch-up paint.

I hear ya on the spray paint. I've had to touch up mine already. I had to replace some decals on the last tractor I had. I haven't turned my pads either for reasons you mentioned. I'd be afraid of tweaking the stabilizer if it dug in to good and tractor twisted. plowking

jaybrad, does your foot look like this as you try to flip it? I can't for the life of me figure why it doesn't work-- mine will hold fast until the arm drops, claws dig in to the ground, and the arm lifts the back of the tractor up in the air.

Mine works just like yours do in the pictures. No problem at all.
