Is the Cyber Truck a Flop?

Tesla reported a good quarter and guidance. The stock is up almost 21% today. I guess it doesn't matter if they aren't selling many Cyber Trucks.

Even if it gets rave reviews, it can still be a flop if they don't sell. According to the video, they aren't selling nearly as many as they first anticipated.
There are articles that quite a few of the pre-orders were refused when they became available.

Starting to see them on a daily basis around here. I have yet to see one doing "truck stuff" but oh well, to each their own. I can hope that something good will come from it all in future developments. Sometime it takes a weirdo to do something different to get us to the next step of doing something better.
The most I've seen one do locally was haul a few items in the bed.

My son has a friend that owns a Car Wrapping Business in NC, and is making a killing on wrapping these things!!! It's true the stainless doesn't hold up well, and buyers are having them wrapping right after they buy them. He's getting around $6500 a pop!!!

Last I read was that sales were much less than anticipated, with less than 20,000 sold.

I don't see 100k/yr of these as a sustainable number at any price. It just doesn't seem to be very useful at doing the things most of us buy a truck to do.
"Us" as folks out in the country with some and land with tractors? I totally agree, the only chance I see of a CT showing up locally for me is a toy for a rich country kid. Or a new guy moving from the city and thinks a truck might be useful, but likes EV's.
There is a lot people near in or near big cities where charging is convenient and its a more "interesting" choice than a regular pickup. They have lot of money and aren't towing ever and nothing dirty ever goes in the bed. There are 2.5 million pickups sold per year, and maybe 25-33% never do truck stuff?
And its not like it can't do some truck stuff, just not tow a parachute of trailer at 75mph very far...

But it LOOKS futuristic!
I need a truck the size of a small F150 that has a 10K tow capacity and can be refueled quickly and do an 900 mile trip through the Appalachians along I81 towing my enclosed trailer.
Electric trucks tend to fail on the range.

That's only for the extra expensive (~$20k), limited time Foundation trim.

Apparently there is now a regular CyberTruck trim becoming available. I think that's the real test of the per-orders.
