Is the JD SCUTs the only one with position control?

You can get draft control from MF for the 1600 series , as an option.

The Mahindra Max series have position control and are Cat 1.

But it is not a SCUT.

You are entitled to your own definition I suppose, and this has surely been debated. BX folks tend to call anything more capable "not a SCUT". The Max does lift more and is heavier and uses a standard Cat 1 and position control, but I think has a similar turning radius and is within a couple inches of the BX in most dimensions. However, SCUT and CUT are a little vague as to what they mean and I suppose Mahindra is blurring the line for some folks.

I heard it was a Scut from Don

I bet you did:rotfl:

I hope the Max is more capable because it is bigger than a SCUT. Compare the dimensions to a Kubota B series and a John Deere 2000 series.

I think Mahindra blurrs the line to confuse people. What is next comparing a Utility tractor to a Compact?

Roger Define SCUT for us then.

I think simplicity calls their legacy xl a SCUT. Most guys on the green forum call a 2210-2720 a SCUT. I do however think Massey don is correct in his definitions.

Enlighten perhaps, confuse - no. :dance1:

I do understand your argument, but unless some national tractor definition society (and no, I don't think we need another government agency!) comes up with clear lines on SCUT vs CUT, those nearer the bottom of the specs will always accuse those near the top of the specs of being out of class. Note I am not saying a lower spec tractor is not as desirable or is not top quality. I'm not picking that fight. I'm just saying that I understand your argument. And JD or Kubota can call their tractors SCUTs, CUTs or Utilities. We can then debate if we wish, but unless we have a firm standard then we are only giving our opinions, as I have done.

I remember back in the early 2000's GM came out with a heavy duty half ton pickup that had 8-lug wheels and other 3/4t hardware. But they listed it as a 1500 and it was top of the class - or was it really a 3/4t in disguise? Who knows. We bought one and found it to be an incredibly capable 1/2 ton, despite the Ford guys saying it wasn't fair.
