Is the shuttle on GST equipped kubotas \'power\'....

...or do you have to clutch to change direction?

Kind of a little of both. The Kubota manual will tell you "raise up and shift the shuttle shift lever forward to obtain forward speeds and shift it backward to obtain reverse speeds without using the clutch pedal".

then it goes on to say:

"reduce engine speed to low idle before shifting the shuttle lever".

So i don't think it's the power reverser you see in some farm tractors where a solenoid allows you to shift from forward to reverse while moving forward at great speed, but it doesn't need clutching, either.

You also do not need to clutch to change from to another.

you don't need to use the clutch, but if your have any speed it feels like a car wreck because it will slam you into the steering wheel when you reverse without thinking. then you will need to step on the clutch while you hold the mashed parts of your neither region

i found that out the hard way

My bad, I meant to tell Timo that you don’t need to clutch to change from one gear to another. And I do agree that you better back off on the throttle when you go forward to reverse at speed.
