Is the weather weird this year or what?

Yesterday I finished removing three Ash trees dead from Emerold Borer (Pulled Over and cut to firewood on Wednesday) and box Bladed the quarter acre level. Since the next week is to be above 70 I spread 50# Kentucky31 Fescue seed over it after ratchet raking some nice grooves. After backblading it in I was spliitting the Ash trunk and you should have seen the looks from my neighbors out enjoying the weather when I put out the tripod sprinkler and started spraying. :laughing::laughing::laughing: This is MI in early March????

Our soil/clay is too wet to work right now... I'd love to be out clearing fence rows today... maybe I'll be able to grade the driveway, but that's about it. Can't even take the tractor in the barnyard to clean manure. Still have to use a wheelbarrow.

After the weather forecasters said we would have the coldest and snowiest winter in 20 years due to La Nina it has been anything but. While we had one week of cold weather and one snowfall of 4 1/2 inches winter has been a bust. We have had in the past month several powerful wind and rain storms. Looking at the green grass, thinking I will have to start cutting in a couple of weeks. :shocked:

Last winter we got over 160% of our usual snow fall. Up until a month ago, we were sitting at 60%. Now we are at 92%. I can live with 90%. I planned on making money blowing snow this winter, but I think I might have just broke even.

2 yrs ago we got 12" of snow in March.. Today it was pushing 80 degrees here.. I have already had to mow the yard in a few spots and soon enough it all will need it..

I've used 12 gallons of gas already in the mower and I just got back in using the weedwacker. Tomorrow I'm taking the chainsaw out back.

Spring work as come early for me, even in NC.

your so right mu parents and my grandparents allways planted potatos on good friday and my whole life all 50some years of i have never been able to plant on good friday either ground froze or covered in snow but this year looks good for planting it will be diferent for sure.

Got my first sunburn of the year today, March 17. :laughing: Even with the wet soil, I managed to find enough things to do to keep me outside for about 8 hours.

Weird weather for sure. Supposed to be hotter Tuesday.
