What does the nearest JD dealer want for a 5045E for comparison?

Went by the JD place today. Didn't have any 5s in and wasn't too keen quoting. He gave a me a figure of 31,500 for 3039R with a FEL and approx 7 grand more for a 4066M with FEL.

Well things ain't exactly cheap down here. A 4066M for $38,500 doesn't sound like much mark up as the JD build your own site puts MSRP for one with Hydro tranny and a D170 loader at $41,500. When I bought my 5045E I had to wait for it to be built in Pune India and shipped by container boat. Your closer to Pune then I am. Was that 4066M on his lot? A test ride around his parking lot would tell you a lot. A salesman that won't quote you a price? It always annoys me how many of them play those games or just seem to be unclear of the concept.
If you go to the build your own site and spec out a 5045E with a 512 loader the MSRP is $35, 432 before you have the tires loaded. With loader on and beet juice in the tires it would weigh about 7500 lbs.

Just got a quote for an NX4510 HST with KL6010 loader and 72"bucket for $39,700.
That is a bit more than I was expecting.

Wow, prices in AK are high. Have you looked into ordering from a dealer in the lower 48 and having it shipped? About 3 months ago I was quoted ~33.5K for a JD5055E power reverser with loader. That's a lot of tractor for the money but I don't know what shipping would be. I also looked at an NX6010HST with cab and loader and was verbally told 35K and that was with no haggling so probably could have got a better price. Given your price for the NX4510HST you prices must be ~7K or 8K higher. I would think that it would be much less than that to ship even to AK but I may be wrong.
