Putting the MMM in "Top" blocks it from lowering and raising and a 3 pt implement can be used without the MMM raising and lowering. Is there any way to block the 3 pt. from lowering so that a small ground engaging implement can remain on the tractor while mowing?

Chain it up.

It will not hurt anything?

That's what the "Top" setting does for the MMM hydraulics. I guess, so good idea. Thanks.

Shouldn't, if you take the lift links off. Raise it up, install chain (s), let it down on to the chains, remove lift links, go mow.

On my BX2200 I can remove the lower lift arms from the lift lever and pin them to stationary points on the frame, so that the lift lever moves but the arms(which are no longer attached) remain stationary.:)

Which tractor are you talking about, some have the mower lift mechanism attached to the TPH lift arms. The BX2200 and possibly the BX1850 has tabs on the rear frame to attach the TPH down links that hold the arms stationary, see pic.

Found a solution. Two turnbuckles one end hooked and the other end loop and two "D-Links". Attached "D-Links" to closed end of turnbuckle and hooked the hooks to the chain stop turnbuckles. Bungee cord holds the disconnected upper lift to lower arm connectors. while disconnected.
