I'd be happy to quote the hoses for you if you give me the opportunity.
And I can attest to the fact that he makes very good ones!

Are you against using non-crimped fittings? I've used the field serviceable fittings a number of times for making the exact custom length hose without having to order or go anywhere. A touch of oil on the fitting/hose before assembly and they go together pretty easily.I have a number of 1/4” & 3/8” hydraulic hoses to make and was wondering if anyone makes an affordable crimp machine that won’t break the bank. Reusable ends seem to be very limited to find. I had NAPA make two 27” long hoses for me the other day with 1/2” male npt on both ends at a cost of $60.00 each which seems pricey to me. Anyone here make their own hydraulic hoses?
Shop all CountyLine CountyLine 1/2 in. x 48 in. Hydraulic Hose, SAE 100R2AT, 3,500 PSI SKU:181948699 $22.99I think you can get a "ready made" 3' long 1/2" hose with male pipe ends at any farm supply (like Tractor Supply) for about $20.
It costs me more than that just to drive that far. Plus the lost time.I think you can get a "ready made" 3' long 1/2" hose with male pipe ends at any farm supply (like Tractor Supply) for about $20.
I always kept rolls of hose and reusable fittings on my truck for over 30 years. However there are certain fittings that they don’t make and adapters won’t work in those tight quarters applications. Plus some machines have a big main hose that isn’t common enough to have a roll of it. But overall it saved me a lot of time especially when you have a street closed and one lane traffic. Lots of variables that one must weigh out for their own situation. Are you against using non-crimped fittings? Field-Attachable (Reusable) Hose Fittings
Field-attachable hose fittings are assembled without a hose crimper, making them an excellent choice for emergency repairs. A properly assembled hose with reusable hose fittings will meet all applicable SAE specifications.www.discounthydraulichose.com
Two 1/2" NPT male fittings can be had for $26/each and the hose is under $2/foot. Order a small spool of hose and a handful of fittings and you can make whatever hose length you need whenever you need it.

But when onsite is all over the place on jobs?I depends. If you have any size excavator, having a HC (hydraulic hose crimper) onsite will save you money in the long run.
My old 1996 Bobcat x320 seemed to burst a hose once a month. Decided to replace all the original OEM hoses. Bought a small Parker MiniKrimp Air-Over-Hydraulic portable hose crimper 15 years ago on eBay for $850 then bought used dies as needed. Bought bulk -04 and -06 hose also on ebay. Mostly military surplus.
Just fell out of my chair - seeing what HC are selling for now. There is currently on eBay is Weatherhead Coll-O-Crimp I T-400 Hydraulic Hose Crimper Crimping Machine with no pump (max 4000 psi) and no dies.

A new Parker Hose Crimping Machine MINIKRIMP PARFLEX Air-Powered Hydraulic like the one I bought

The cost is high with tooling and stock hose and fittings. Standardize on Parker 43 fittings and have made more that 60 hoses so far. I figured I will recoup my investment when ready to sell.
