Is this a good deal trading a 2210 in on a 2305

Though the 2305 hydraulics have nowhere the speed of the 2320 and even more so the 2520 with the FEL, you'd be surprised how responsive they are with the BH. I would say your dealer is right about extensive work suggesting a 2520 or up (a 110 TLB would be nice ), but the 260 BH is in no way a toy.

I dont know why people keep saying its a toy. I can tell you from my personal use on the machine since I purchased in feb that it is not a toy.

Thanks again for all the info after all these wks my dealer gave me a price of 8500 different. 53 " bucket on fel , 12" on hoe, and new 54" mmm
the other dealers wanted 10,500 and 11,000
I told my dealer go ahead get the new one ready Should be deliver sometime wk after next.
I also called the other dealers to advise them they lost the sale. The one told me my dealer more than likely had my tractor already sold or knew of someone looking for my 2210. Either way comes down to the end price and a dealer that will work with you.
This makes 3 different models in the past 7-8 yrs This will be the last one for I hope many,many years.
The used one I first was thinking about trading for some how has a lien on it .
So that is why I went to the JD dealers. Plus this way I can use there money for the next 3 yrs and no interest.

Yes, the 2305/bx24 size machine that has a backhoe is limited in what they can do and the speed in whch they can do it, but they still work and I see a lot of good stories of people useing them on this website.

I love the one on my BX23 . With out the BH I'd feel like I didn't even have a tractor.

*And a wheel borrow too!

I hope I do not step on any toes here, but a 2305 with a backhoe seems a little like a toy. I hear they do well, but I cannot imagine they do that well as small as they are with the hydraulic flow they have.
*Am I missing something? My local dealer says the 2520 is about the smallest machine he recommends to use a backhoe with extensively, except in cases of very limited or easy usage. He says they do a great job. I think Chris has had good luck with his so far.

Well 2 wks ago I traded in the 2210 for the 2305 w/fel,54mm,260backhoe,
I do not regret doing the trade. Yesterday w/ 6hr I drove the tractor about 2 miles to my wifes uncle. He needed a 150' ft dug. I can say yes it doesn't have the punch of a bigger machine. and there was 2 time we had to break the rocks w/a sledge before I could bring them up out of the ditch. But it worked great.!!!!!!
When I returned home it had 9.7 hrs about .4hrs was used driving to his place the rest of the time digging. used somewhere between 2-3 gal of fuel. I ran the tractor at appx 2000 rpm and it did surprise me Oh the 2 stones that had to be broken they were under his gravel drive that has seen tractor and trailers loaded to large farm machines,travel over it for the past 70-100 yrs. IT WAS HARD I will say the added sub frame made the tractor very stiff. for only using the hoe about 20 min before going to dig this ditch I had 2nd thoughts. and by no means I am not a bh operator it will take ,like the others have said 50 hrs or so before even coming close it know what I'm doing
Any one thinking about buying a hoe this size don't be afraid
