^^ i had to look up calumny. Learn a new word today.
Don't know why he would make it up. When i bought my tractor, my dealer said it's a 2019 bx. Won't be here till next week.

I have purchased two new Kubotas.

I have the dealer orders. I have the loan documents. Never does a tractor "year" appear.

There are hundreds of posts in the archive questioning compact tractor model years.
I have not read one post where the contributor could furnish a model year from tractor documents before them.

As long as it's the same model I wouldn't have any real heartburn. Warranty is turned on the day it's delivered to the final customer. There's no yearly refresh cycle for tractors the way there is for automobiles. A B2650 is a B2650, period. My L3301 was a 2015 I bought in 2016. Didn't even know that until I looked at the listing for it after I traded it in.

Hours matter, model matters, condition matters. Year doesn't matter much on a machine that, with proper care, will still be around in 50+ years.

It's just as jeff9366 stated, "Tractors do not have model 'years'."

The 'friend of a friend' is confusing automotive products AND their 'model year' advertising/emphasis with tractors.

Yes, at times, a minor tweak is made to a tractor model (ie: there are no longer any grease nipples on my 4105's front axle, even though the Manual indicates there are) but you are buying the model of tractor, with the associated hours, not the year of manufacture or assembly.

Did your friend read paper work he sign and did it state 2019?
Did he show saleman...touch the tractor even write down serial number to match paper work numbers for the paper work....those little things count.

He's not my friend. I've never met the man. When i take delivery of mine, fingers crossed it'll be this Wednesday, I'll look at my paperwork to see if a year is listed. Several people say it's not, I'm sure they're right. Last one i bought was back in 2002, that paperwork is long gone.

I bought a RK 24 last July, 7/18, and that is the only date listed. It's on the loan app and warranty page. I've got about 60 hours on it, works fine and does what I need it to do so I don't care when it was "assembled". Enjoy your new toys 'er tractors and hopefully they will be trouble free.

If it gave him that much heartburn he shouldn't have accepted it.

I don't think it really matters much at all.

However, that being said, my invoice from my selling dealer, and my loan paperwork from my ag lender both have the model year of my tractor listed on them.

Maybe my situation is different, as there was no way for me to get a previous year tractor. My tractor model was a new series release for 2017. Purchased new in April of 2017. I'm sure there could be parts on my tractor that were actually manufactured in late 2016 to make the build date that the unit was assembled and shipped to the US, and then final assembled and shipped to my dealer.

Like I said, I really don't think it matters, but my documents have the model year on them.

I challenge your hearsay assertions.

Tractors do not have model "years".

Jeff is 100% correct on this, tractors do not have model years but do have date of manufacture tags on the various components. If a buyer thinks/expects otherwise then he hasn't done his homework.

See the same complaint on a boating forum from time to time -- someone will buy a 2019 model year boat and notice that the engine manufacture tag says October 2018 and act like they got duped. Outboard motors don't have model years either. Boats do have model years (matters because they get hull ID numbers and vessel titles) but boat makers model years don't coincide with the calendar year. This particular brand started making 2019 boats in July 2018, so it wouldn't even be possible to rig the "2019" boat with a "2019 manufacture" motor for at least 5-6 months if not longer. Outboard manufacturers make motors on their own production schedule and then crate them for future use.
