Is this a new tractor?

I randomly chose a Kubota dealership and they do advertise the year model.
New Kubota L Series Models For Sale Pittsburg Tractor, Inc.

When I bought my L3301 in February of this year the tractor had been sitting on the lot since Oct of 2018. The salesman told me this when I asked.

My bill of sale does not show a model year for the tractor I bought. The ONLY reason it would matter is if the tractor I bought new had been sitting out on the lot over a year.

Messicks has a video explaining why year model doesn't matter like cars do.

Do tractor model years matter?? - TMT - YouTube

I watched that video a while ago, but it doesn't always apply as mentioned above. Sometimes it matters greatly. I think in the past the dealers charged you as new no matter the year as long as it was actually new. Now many dealers tell you the year of the tractor and the OEM publishes it, and the dealers will give deals on "older" years even if new. Times change

When I bought my M6040, in 2009, the salesman told me. " If you are serious about a new tractor - buy this one now. It will be the LAST Tier 3 we will be getting. The next units will be Tier 4".

I went back a couple months later - he was correct. The new ones were - M6060. First year of the Tier 4.

Kind of like the VW Dealer that sold a brand new VW Convertible Bug that sat in the showroom for 30 years... less than 10 miles on it.

It was sold with full warranty as it had been in inventory for 30 years!

Instead of a discount it sold for 3 times sticker...

I like that story!

I need to sell my dad's 1981 VW 5 spd. Diesel pickup with topper, and 55,000 miles.
It is in near perfect original condition.
Has been stored for last 25 years.
I hope to get at least twice what he paid for it.

Just found this out myself on my new Kubota 1140 rtv. Some dealers were quoting around $700 less than others. Turns out those were 18's and not 19's. I went for the 19 still in the crate . No one said anything till I questioned the price difference... I agree, not really kosher...

RTVs are different because they have a VIN, just like a car or truck. That may get you into titling/licensing requirements in some states.

My boss special ordered one in Tarpin Blue... fuel was expensive and he used for business... his fuel cost dropped dramatically from the Dodge Pickup he had been driving.

I bought my LS toward the end of 2018. I needed it fast so I took one they had on the lot instead of special ordering. Got it home and realized it was a 2017 model. I didn't care all that much. If the salesman had told me it was already a year old, I still would have bought it. But I would have appreciated there not being any unfavorable ingredients being slipped into my food without my knowledge. I was impressed that i was unable to tell that the tractor had been sitting out in the weather on that lot for a year. No paint fade, no plastic/rubber degradation.

For all we know it could have sat in a crate for much of that time. I know when I bought my Kubota B2920 in late 2011, it was still fresh in the crate despite having been built much earlier. Could also depend on how good the crates are and where they are stored. I've seen some dealers stack them outdoors and some stack them indoors.

Cab tractors and big Ag tractors come pre-assembled but smaller open station tractors almost always come knocked down in a crate (which can be anything from a real crate to a shrink-wrapped steel frame).
