Regarding the signage should be different concept.
I WHOLLY agree. The Chief said he really wanted some "no parking between signs" signs.
Now we have part A of the county verses part B of the county (the people with signs and what THEY want to do)
It's really interesting watching Sherriff dept point finger at highway dept, or vice versa... not to forget everyone pointing fingers at TVA and THEIR vice versa... Bottom line, no one really gives a rats hiney (and frankly I can't say I really blame them, there ARE more important things in the world for everyone to worry about)
That said, we get a LOT of riff raff out here. One of the deputies told me point blank, this is considered one of their larger 'problem areas'. Ironically, one of the TVA officers has also told me it's one of THEIR bigger problem areas.
I think this is the basic reason they felt to tag road no parking and by & large, I must admit, AFTER these signs went up, 90% of our issues have taken their drugs/booze/trespassing/thievery/garbage/dumped dead bodies/dumped animals/dumped construction materials/dumped appliances elsewhere.
My feeling is, we gotta be dilligent. one thing that really infuriates me when I don't call the sherriff... (and yes, this has happened)... I see someone parked down there on weekend perhaps, later on when I drive by going home or out, I see a bunch of trash dumped (ironically) right near where they were parked. Was it them or not? I didn't see it so can't say for sure.
Net effect of the above is I feel compelled to be the pinhead to ALL of them. My logic being, once word gets out that there is no grace given... they will simply go elsewhere.
It would be SO much easier for all if they simply used the darn parking lot that was built for them. (oh yeah, some that do, leave their trash on ground there too) Yet again, it all simply comes down to respect!
