Is this dealer selling a certified ROPS? Looks fishy! What the heck is that?

19 HP Tractor with Front Loader - 4x4 Diesel - Yanmar - farm &...

It sure looks funny. However, the standard for ROPS in federal law speak of the ability of the ROPS to perform, not what it looks like.

In the Federal OSHA law, a certified non-removable sticker must be affixed to the ROPS with manufacture, make/modles the ROPS fits, rating of load capacity and other stuff.

1928.51 - Roll-over protective structures (ROPS) for tractors used in agricultural operations. | Occupational Safety and Health Administration

Now, should the machine be made before the law, DIY or homemade ROPS may have been made. You need to ask the seller about the details.

You have to admit, a round one looks like it would "roll better" than a square one. :)

And keep rolling and keep rolling and keep .....

The ROPS is to STOP the rolling.

Good point!

The dealer claimed it is refurbed in their shop. However, with more research, I am pretty sure they are selling Vietnam refurbs. The only folks doing their own refurbs in my area are TractorCo.com - Thorp and North Bend, WA - Offering New & Used Tractors, Implements, and Equipment Repair

Another dealer in my area claimed his "new" looking Yanmars came from Japan. Right, they are refurbing Yanmars in Japan now? No way. Pretty sure he is peddling Vietnam refurbs, which may not be a bad thing, they just should be honest about it.

Is it attached same as the ROPS on this one that comes with an integral 2-point tiller instead of 3-point arms? I think this firm is the importer/distributor for that region.

I was wondering the other day about that standard. What if they put, in effect, a front ROPS: more or less extending the FEL guard up above the front of the tractor. Just extend that front enough such that the rear ROPS would be no higher than the 8 1/2 ft clearance to go underneath a garage door to qualify.

When I had the 4010, it had a non folding ROPS that fit underneath all the garage door openings. Worked. Kept the 1025R's folded and now the 2025R's. Otherwise, I'll forget and bash my garage.

The ROPS for my Kenbota is in the middle. I made it part of the FEL assembly.

Please don't mind the dirt. I only did a "quick sweep" for the picture.

Your ROPS is better than the machine with the skinny wire loop!

PS, a dirty floor like that means, somebody is working!
