"The Bobcat dealers here in Dallas, Denton, Fort Worth and Mckinney and Waco are now carrying the Kioti line. Will be interesting to see how pans out..."

I've noticed this too and thinking how ironic it was that this is the case after reading the newspiece. Coincidence.

The closest one (Ft. Worth) seemed to have tried hawking Montana for a while but seems to have dropped them for Kioti a while back.

Many in this country, and you can see it in posts on this site, think that bigger is better. I think the reason Kioti has been successful is that they are a small company and can be more concerned with quality control and manufacturing a better product. Hopefully this marriage will not cheapen Kiotis excellent product line. Kioti seems to be doing more effective advertising and have become agressive in promoting what they make.

From the article...

Established in 1947, Daedong Industrial Co. Ltd. has four agricultural equipment-related subsidiaries and affiliates. Employing 780 people worldwide, Daedong posted US$ 370 Million in sales in 2005. The estimated sales amount would be US$ 431 Million in 2006. Daedong Ag Tractors sold 12,000 units worldwide in 2005 and their export portion is 25 percent. Daedong has a subsidiary “Daedong U.S.A.,” which was established in Wendell, North Carolina, in 1993, to introduce high quality compact tractors to the American market. Visit Daedong at :::::: ´ëµ¿°ø¾÷ÁÖ½Äȸ»ç - ³ó¹ÎÀÇ ¶¡°ú º¸¶÷ÀÇ ÇöÀå¿¡ ´Ã ÇÔ²²ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. ::::::::::

Size is good a good and bad thing, yes you can accomplish lower overhead and control costs better. However you still have the base operating expense to cover. 12,000 units a year is very few tractors, Kubota sells almost double that in RTV900's alone in just the USA. Each tractor has a % of the cost of the manufacturing lines wrapped into the cost, the more units your pushing down that line the smaller the % of overhead in each unit. Its simple ecconomies of scale. Its quite amazing that they've managed to build much of their machine in house when other small companies outsource most if not all of the production. LG, Mahindra, etc pass many more things off to other companies (TYM) rather than keeping it in house. Its pretty remarkable that Kioti has done that while still keeping the price competitive.

How Bobcat would "cheapen" the Kioti name is beyond me. Bobcat has a long, revered history and Kioti is a relatively new player - its affiliation with Bobcat would only strengthen Kioti's image and re-affirm their quality. The high resale value of Bobcat's products across its entire line is a testament to its quality.

"LG, Mahindra, etc pass many more things off to other companies (TYM) rather than keeping it in house."

Hi Neil, just wanted to say something here. LG does not farm anything out to TYM. They manufacturer their own machines. The Mitsubishi engines in many of the LG tractors models (4320, 4340, 4920, 4940 old 4540 new 4344 and 4944 Montana numbers) are actually manufactured by LG under a license from Mitsu so they manufacture most of the machine in house.

I only correct this as many people confuse LG with Montana. LG makes most of the Montana line and yes, they (Montana) do have TYM as a supplier but LG manufactures their own machines but in some cases in the smaller machines do buy engines from Mitsu and Daedong.

Thanks,
Maka

My Bobcat and Kioti dealers are about 3 miles apart. Sounds like somebody is going to be looking for a new line of tractors to sell.

In this neck of the woods the Bobcat excavators are not considered quality machines. Hopefully you are correct about it helping Kioti's image.

PRO magazine had this.. Bobcat To Produce Compact Utility Tractors

In a move intended to expand its No. 1 market position in compact equipment, Bobcat Company announced today that it has signed a long-term strategic agreement with a highly respected Korean manufacturer, Daedong Industrial Co. Ltd., to produce a line of Bobcat-branded compact utility tractors.

This alliance brings together the strengths of two respected and recognized companies, said David Rowles, president of Bobcat Americas. By combining the Bobcat global brand, dealer network and service with Daedongs commitment to compact tractor design and technology, we can provide our customers with the quality compact equipment experience theyve come to expect from Bobcat. We plan to start offering compact utility tractors to customers later this year.

Daedong is very pleased to have entered into this agreement with Bobcat Company, said Jun-Sik Kim, president of Daedong. We as a company, look forward to building on our strengths by providing Bobcat customers with quality, affordable tractors with marketplace staying power through this alliance. Daedong has produced compact equipment products for the past 60 years.

This compact utility tractor line will complement our current Bobcat compact equipment lineup, which includes skid-steer, compact track, all-wheel steer and mini track loaders, compact excavators, telescopic tool carriers, utility vehicles, utility work machines and job-matched attachments, said Bruce Collins, vice president of attachments and vehicles for Bobcat Company.

The quality of the Daedong product line is well-recognized by customers as world-class, said Seong-Ki Kim, chief of the international business division for Daedong. Bobcat and Daedong will achieve high synergy in this business collaboration.

In evaluating this market, Bobcat did extensive voice-of-customer and voice-of-dealer work to validate specific compact utility tractor features. The Bobcat project team worked with a team from Daedong to create a compact utility tractor that meets Bobcat-brand expectations.

Having read the article, it it difficult to decide. I truly believe that the Kioti tractor is more user friendly than Kubota, but Kubota has the name behind them. Sometimes, too many of the same items being sold hurts everyone. Could the victor be New Holland? I don't think I would be too happy if i were a Kioti dealer. I don't know if Bobcat even offers a small tractor, but it this is new to them and they are equal in quality to Kioti, then, for sure, Kioti would suffer. If I were buying one and all things being equal, i would probably buy the Bobcat because of its name recognition and reputation. It's difficult to predict how things will pan out.

Thats too cool! Where did you get that info? I tried contacting bobcat earlier today wanting info about the tractors. I've been talking to the dealers but they didn't know morethan anyone else. I know what kioti offers and if they made the dk45 with cab and hst trans I'd buy one tomorrow. I contacted kioti to see if there was one in the works and they said no. When I hear about the bobcat tractors I was hoping they might make 45hp cab hst tran tractor with white paint.

When I was at my dealer today we were discussing all the diffrent models that Bobcat will be offering and, if I recall, the (Bobcat) CT445 & CT450 should be out sometime in the spring with cabs readily available. Talking with my dealer, I would not expect Bobcat to have info available to the public right now. I think that after the launch (October) you will be able to get more info but my dealer was able to let me pre-order right now.

That looks like a CK25 in sheeps clothing except for the loader. That loader looks from the photo anyway kinda light duty. How does it compare to the KL130b? It is not the KL130B as there is no torque tube evident and it is just a different design.

I have to wonder about the pricing, will the Bobcat name make them more expensive? It is a sharp looking tractor with the Kioti orange rims and the white stylish body. If there are cabs available for the bigger hydros I'm guessing it's an add-on cab like Sims or Lauren.

I did my homework before signing on the dotted line for this tractor. The price I was quoted beat John Deere, Kubota, and Kioti (very close).

What are the specs on the loader and does it have a Bobcat QA?

Kiotis and Bobcats, will Canine and Feline get along?

If Bobcat drops the Kubota engines.........Expect Kubota to start rolling out skidsteers. Let the games begin!!
