Is this normal?

I've got a 3510 with FEL that I'm using to add dirt to and smooth the inside of the levees on 2 ponds on our property to make them easier to mow. I dump the dirt in place then tilt the bucket down slightly and back up in the "float" position to smooth and contour the added dirt. When I raise the bucket after the smoothing, it hesitates and sometimes requires releasing the lever and raising it again before it will come up. I was under the assumption that I could safely backdrag with the bucket in the float position, but I don't want to damage anything. Any input?

I have the same tractor and have done the same thing. Mine doesn't hesitate. Sounds like something's wrong.

Thanks for the reply Shirleyshusband. I don't remember mine doing this at first, but it does now. I wasn't sure though since I wasn't doing that type of back dragging much before now. Everything else seems normal with the bucket movements. Anybody else with a ML112 loader care to wade in on this? Any dealers? Hopefully it is something simple.

Check your hydraulic fluid level. If its low you could be getting some air in the lines. Ive noticed something like you describe with the loader on my 7520, but not as severe. I now run mine a top level when the loader is at full height. This amounts to a 2-3 qt overfill. Things are better.

I have run into this somewhat as well. I think I had a post on it for my 6500 a while back about a strange noise. What also works for me is running at a higher RPM to get the flow rate up.
