America...the land of choices...

This thread started back on Oct 1st with the OP wondering if payment on order was the norm, specific to concerns raised about EA.

He mentioned originally ordering from EA around August 24th. Quick skim seems that the OP may have responded only once since...

Suspect by now, more than 10 weeks later, the EA attachment should be in hand?

@Mr. CTGOLDWING, was it worth the wait and payment on order for you?
!

It did come in, pretty much in the time frame promised. The box blade is first quality, so much so that I ordered a back blade from them right after (with a longer lead time)

I remember mailing a check or money order and hoping I got my product!

I don't have a problem paying up front for a quality item from a reputable company, especially with how much more control a CC gives the consumer if things go bad.

Nothing further to add other than a LOL at Doug62 with steam coming out his ears because someone made him defend his own accusatory statements. It's just too easy to rile up some folks, haha.

EA is a good company, it's quite easy to find this out just by participating in these forums.

Better be careful Deezler,

He'll send RED WORDS AT YOU!!!

I've never seen anyone on this forum get so triggered...

RED words?

Just wow.

I started off just offering a different point of view, as to "why" a company may decide to change (or implement) a policy. Then called out "folks" (no name was mentioned) for making baseless accusations on company's financial statuses. Then Spazzo went berzerk. Then RED WORDS.

That's gotta be a "first" for me.

Maybe AlGore *shouldn't* have invented the internet afterall?

I'm done with this one. Not really sure what can happen after words turn RED, but...?

On to the subject. We will take orders for any special parts that are returnable to the vender without a deposit on the part. Depending on cost, we may request up front on the freight, if it is a non-stock part.
A few years back we took an order for a large machine, coming from Japan, almost $10M cost. We took a $250,000 deposit with the purchase order. Delivery was told up front to be 1 year. A year later the equipment was shipped by boat to U.S. Before it was taken off the dock, customer canceled the order. Lost the deposit. The vendor would not take it back, but continued to other new ones to other customers in the US. Manufacturer could have sold this one without the long wait time, but preferred to sale another new one. As it was a bank draft before it was put on the ship, nothing we could do. It sit for 3 years at the port with us paying storage. We than sold it to South American customer at cost, after a lot of cleanup, testing and replacing a lot of seals and all of the fluids. The owner says we will never sell anything this big again without a 25 to 50% deposit up front.

No one said otherwise. In fact I ended my post with this... They may be great people but it's a risky practice for a consumer to pay that far in advance. We were discussing a business practice they employ. Albeit one I think is poor and I gave some simple math explanations that even you can follow. I think anyone with basic reading comprehension should understand that is not stating they are bad people.

And you misread it completely; I was biding him on for laughs. He came with the BIG BOLD LETTERS. I can see you are a member of the same tribe as Slowpoke. I'd come up with a witty name for your tribe but there's little point in being witty for the witless. I did make me laugh a lot, so that's all that matters to me!

Come on Slowpoke. Don't get your panties all in a bunch. It's pretty funny so see you try to twist this about RED letters when you are the one who came back with replies with HUGE BOLD FONTS. Go back and look at who started with that nonsense. IT WAS YOU! lol I just replied in red because of your reading comprehension issues. Actually it was a double entendre. We can wait while you look that up.

I was making fun of you by picking the color button next to the BOLD AND FONT SIZE buttons you clearly found and decided to use. You must be a politician similar to Al Gore the way you tried to turn that around! LMAO

"Never argue with idiots, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." Thanks for the laughs today. I did need that.

THEY USE ALL CAPS, BOLD, ITALIC, & UNDERLINED!!!

Slowpoke already did that. Actually he started with ALL CAPS BOLD LETTERS in quoting my earlier posts. I just used the button right beside the Caps and Bold buttons he had JUST USED to make fun of him for doing so, along with the double meaning of making sure he could comprehend it was a reply within his reply. As I said in the previous post, it's called a double entendre.

It's less fun for me now that I have to point it out. Bummer. I thought it was pretty funny at the time. LMAO
