I could not find the S/N that corresponds to the serial numbers posted on jdparts but the pics on the images tell me the story. I thank everyone for there comments. That's why I love this site. Always lots of good info and good advice. Regained my faith in JD.

 Glad you got it figured out. No hard feelings here on calling the shoes I have "ugly" either:laughing:

JD says no upgrades required on my tractor/loader as per serial numbers given. Thanks for the info though as it was all news to me.

I don't see anyone putting home made bumpers on their new cars just because they are stronger. Guess I'm trying to make a point but not sure if I did.[/QUOTE]

My problem with the new part is with the grease fitting part that's missing on the new one! On the old part you could keep it greased and moving smoothly , but here you now have to rely on a bolt that will wear out the holes on the sides, which will creat slop. Truth be told, The old part is the better deal if only for that reason. Also looks to me like the new part will not fit. Holes seem to be in the wrong place.

my 420 loader has the steel ones. the previous owner must have hit something hard, because one side was bent pretty good. the steel rod that goes between them was bent up too (still used it as it was for a cpl months). i straightened them both out pretty easily...the rod w/ a press and the bracket w/ a sledge and some steel blocks/wedges inserted in between the sides.

not sure a cast piece would have survived the impact that bent that bracket, let alone be easily repaired. been a few months since i had it apart, but from memory, it's at least 3/16" if not 1/4", thick. i don't think they look THAT bad, but i guess if it doesn't match the cast one, and that's the one you prefer, then it will.

as far as grease fittings, i thought mine had them everywhere that needed them, i'll have to check again and see if there are any on those brackets.
