Hi Shiver, if it's an FE 35, the main frame and engine should be gold painted, but over here it's not unusual to see them overpainted in grey ( as the grey was a later tractor ). One certain point is the number of bolts around the rear axle stub. Look inside the rear wings at the end of the axle where it meets the the brake drum plate, if there are 12 bolts then it's an FE35, If there is 6 bolts, it's an MF35.

Thanks 033614. The MF serial number plate lists it as an FE-35, I'll check the # of bolts, but I believe that when Massey / Ferguson merged, it was basically a repaint of MF red/grey of the FE-35 line.

I'll go check the bolts.

I just realized this last night. I think there's more truth to the repainting of
the FE-35
